Deadric Arrows?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 5:24 pm

Has anyone found a place where deadric arrows are plentiful in the game?

I can find them on some of the automations in Dwemer ruins.
And the only merchant that ever seems to have any for sale is the Fletcher in Solitude. But he doesn't always have them and even when he does, it's usually between 7 and 15 of them. Takes a while to build them up.

I only use them for fighting dragons. But I'm getting low and can't find any more.

Those are all the locations I have found for daedric arrows as well.
I think higher tier arrows are supposed to be scarce.
I find that glass and ebony arrows work just as well, really. I only use daedric arrows for special kills, like when I roleplay I want to leave an impression on the townsfolk when doing a Dark Brotherhood quest.

I collected around 180 of them from the fletcher over time. Lastnight I find some in Faendal's house. He had about 20 of them. I steal them and then I end up having to pay a bounty in Solitude for something else, the gaurd takes my stolen goods right there. I look and he took all my deadric arrows. I can't get them back. I searched the jail and him with no luck. Then I load the save and decide to drop the stolen arrows. But now they all come up as stolen. So all my hours of finding these arrows are gone, it was a waist. I play in 3 rd person a lot so looks are important. Deadric arrows looked awesome on my archer. Now I'm using ebony which look horrible because the arrow holder is short looking.

Anyway sorry back to the subject. Faendal's house in Riverwood has arrows, deadric arrows. You can get them when you first start the game. Also you give him the deadric arrows and take all his other arrows and if he follows you whenever you go into battle he will shoot only deadric arrows. Then you can just collect them from the ground and bodies.

This way is more of an exploit but still works well. Go to the porch where they practice in Dragonsreach. You'll find a guard practicing with his bow. Go steal any arrows he has and put one deadric arrow in his inventory. Now go clear the target of all his arrows he had been shooting. Now just watch him shoot for a while and collect his deadric arrows. He will just keep shooting the arrows even though you only gave him one. Works well. I used it just to get back my 190 arrows that are supposed to be mine.

I got the arrow making mod and still they are pretty expensive to make (since u need a deadra heart for every 25) not to mention u need smithing to be 90 to get to them

but yah I guess they are suppose to be rare-ish

Thanks for the Faendal's tip. I'll check that one out.

I've tried the trick with exchanging the arrows with a practicing guard. It doesn't seem to work. I heard this glitch was fixed in the 1.3 patch.
besides, when I open up their inventory, they don't ever have any arrows to take at all in their inventory, even though they are shooting them. Weird.

It works with the 1.3.10 PC version. You need to wait until they've put the quiver away, so wait until they're not practicing or until they're asleep - just enter the barracks at night and give everyone in there 1 daedric arrow. You will harvest many more than that on the next day.

I'm just beginning to find ebony in dungeons at levels in the mid 40s. I found one daedric arrow at a fletcher and I find ebony in small quantities at vendors.

Here's an interesting crafting idea. Why not allow users to write books within the game? Maybe even export them through the consoles/pcs to other players?

Thanks Lytha. I'll give that a try.

Doesn't make sense. You can craft any weapon or armor you want but you can't make your own arrows?

Just curious, does anyone know if you can make deadric arrows at the Astronach forge in the Midden under the College of Winterhold? I have plenty of deadra hearts to use. I visit Enthir (spelling?) at the college once in a while (because he's a thieves guild fence) and always buy both deadra hearts he has for sale.

Oh! Cool, I didn't know about this one! Do I have to take their own arrows away? And then just reverse pickpocket one arrow to each guard? Then once they practice, I pick up the arrows from the targets? or by pickpocketing again? LOL

So far I've only found 1 Daedric Arrow and even the Ebony arrows are scarce at times. The Fletcher in Whiterun has the most Ebony arrows for sale usually. Why the Fletcher in Solitude has usually none, is beyond me. Why can't Fletchers just sell 500 of each arrow, and a few bows... I mean they ARE Fletchers!

@ cobrasno1: I know you can summon atronachs and make summon atronach scrolls, but I highly doubt you can make arrows at that forge.

I haven't tried the forge yet. The 1st time I was there I didn't have any of the red and gold things (can't remember what they're called) you get from the giant dwemer automations.

And I know you can make most deadric gear there as well. As long as you have deadra hearts or those red sphere's.

The dynamo cores? And oh I didn't know you could make armor there, too! My bad! :) I learn something new every day!

Sweet! I kept one Dynamo core as a souvenir once, because they look cool. I was always wondering if they had a purpose! hahahaha
Cool deal! I'll have to look into that! :) Thanks for the info, Cobra!

I actually found the forge before I ever saw a Dynamo Core. Now I have around 20 of them. Just haven't been back to the Midden yet.
Have you done the glove and ring part of the Midden yet? That ones pretty cool too.

You have to have 100 conjuration to use dynamo cores to make daedric gear btw.

One of the requirements is to have a sigil stone, and you can only get that from the conjuration ritual spell.

Unless you want to go to Oblivion and take one from Mehrunes Dagon yourself :P

I made a daedric arrow factory in the cistern of the thieves guild. As mentioned earlier you need to steal any arrows they each have in inventory when not practicing and replace with one daedric arrow. Once I did this took me about 15-20 minutes to harvest 500 arrows.

Yeah, I heard about this trick. I tried it but didn't realize their arrows only showed up in their inventory when not practicing. I kept pickpocketing them as they were practicing. No arrows show up then.

Thanks!!

This, it's just too easy. After a couple rounds of it, you should have a few hundred.

I just reached level 67 and now the fletcher has about 50 deadric arrows every few days. It went up from less than 10 do I'm happy.

i give my follower 1 deadric arrow and let them use their generic bow. Slow but its a little less cheesy than using solitude guards.

The fletcher in Solitude sells them (I got 37 from him about an hour ago while selling some swag), as does the guy in the Drunken Huntsman in Whiterun. In fact, any Blacksmith can have them as well, but it's pretty rare that they actually do and you have to be about level 46 for them to show up at all. Once you're about level 50 they can appear as loot; I often get some in 'boss' chests (i.e. at the end of a dungeon), as they draw from improved leveled lists and have a higher chance for 'rare' items to spawn.

Mods let you craft them, but those on consoles don't have that option so might want to try the 'arrow swap' trick outlined in a previous post. If you're going to use the Whiterun guards in Dragonsreach for this, you'll want to take the arrows back if you're going to run the Civil War as a Stormcloak; they get replaced at a certain point in that quest line, so you'll lose the 'seed' arrows if you don't confiscate them ahead of time.
