Dear Bethesda WTF

Post » Sun Feb 20, 2011 3:45 pm

You have made the biggest assumptions here.I guess sometimes its just easy to put your head in the sand and say everything is fine.Doesnt the fact that you are here, trying to help so many people, say something?
There are game breaking bugs, across all formats, for many players. Can you deny that? No, of course not.
I'd say that was news worthy, you dont agree so well leave it at that.

Yeah fine, you've made your point in multiple threads and even your own one, you're angry. I feel with you, I had similar problems with FO3 back in 2009. I didn't got mad about it, waited for a patch and had hours of fun without crashes and corrupted saves. Writing hate posts won't do anything good for you, they just make you more angry. The majority of users play this game without problems (and believe me I'm talking about a vast majority, as you clearly never played a really [censored] up game) or only minor problems. Gently walk on and wait for the patch. Being angry just lets you look stupid and isn't good for your health.

I dunno, man. Writing some hate posts makes 'me feel a little better. I say keep the hate alive until changes are made. I salute my fellow haters.

Every day I come here hoping Ill be able to play FNV again thanks to a patch fixing some of the issues and every day I leave utterly disappointed. Out of the bugs I'm sure you guys have fixed some of them whats stoping you from releasing fixes as you make them new Vegas update v2.1 v2.2 v2.3 no ones going to complain about having to install a lot of fixes, for a game with a lot of bugs there will be a lot of complaints however if we have to wait months for one patch and no information in the mean time.

Dear Bethesda,
I have a damn fine rig intel quad core 3.2 ghz processor 12 gigs of ram, SLI 8800 GTS etc

wow what a crappy video card setup for such a nice PC so many $80 to $120 single cards are so much better now than SLI 8800's why not get a nice video card or 2 and remove those svcky bottlenecks on your performance?

I'm not a programmer, but even I know patches are not made over night. I wouldn't want one that was. (Depends on the game and what was patched.)

It's not unheard of to patch one issue, just to introduce 3 more. There is a lot of meat on the bones of these open world games. You have to keep this in mind. They have to replicate the issue, then try and fix it, without introducing more bugs. Once they think they have it, they test it before making it live. That takes time.

Bethesda has never been strong on the "keep informed front". When they think they have a working patch, they will let us know. They have already stated they are monitoring the forums and trying to do the aforementioned replication/fixes/testing. So know we just/must wait til they have something worth giving.

The best post on this forum so far, I totally agree with you about Fallout New Vegas and I got a AMD Athlon Dual Core 2.7 GHz Processor and NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GSO. Fallout 3 worked as a charm for me, no problems at all, not even a single CTD after the last patch. But what the hell did they do to New Vegas... I can play for five minutes to three hours and it randomly crashes and to not mention the bugs and glitches.

I couldn't wait for another patch to relese, so I downloaded the d3d9.dll fix for NVIDIA and I don't experience more crashes but I still do experience alot of bugs and glitches. I can't beleve they're forcing us to use an amateur player's fix. no offence.

If Bethesda doesn't fix an new update soon I feel like trying to sue them for scamming me on 449 SEK ($68), but I guess it's impossible... damn you!

That's a recipe for disaster. Better to have them develop as many fixes as possible, test them together to see that there are no conflicts, then release.

Well, I will not go into a pointless argument, but how big is the percentage of the "disgruntled customers" out of all the games sold?

What an absolutely silly argument. Just because millions of people buy it on release day doesn't mean even one of those people expect the problems we are all having with making this game run well. Game day sales vs complaints = dumb argument. Notice on these forums that there are people who aren't buying until the bugs are resolved?

Regardless, any customer that has a system that meets the game requirements has a right to expect that the game will work. That is simple customer satisfaction logic which is more meaningful than your logic that "since it works for me all the rest of you go to he__".

Why is that? It's a simple truth. Programmers are not miracle workers. It's like asking someone to build a bridge in 2 weeks. These things take time, no doubt about it. Would you drive an hastily built bridge? I wouldn't.

I'd rather them take the time to get it right rather than rush something out just to cause more issues, or not work at all.

I would like them to build the bridge and test that it could carry cars before opening it to the new six lane highway

but we dont always get what we want now do we Obsidian\Bethesda?

Any word from bethesda would be nice. I don't care if a patch is delayed another day or week or month if it means that customers like myself are filled in on whats going on.

As of now I don't even care if all they write is their guesswork, the modding community could probably benefit from that anyway.

If your food get delayed at a resturant what gets you more pain.

if the waiter says "am sorry the food will be done in about XX mihokers"

or if the waiter says "it be done when its rdy" then leaves the building

AMD Quad Core
ATI HD 4870
6 gigs of Ram

Game runs like a charm. And since the d3d9.dll fix I havn't had any crashes at all. (before that I had 2...one while loading a save and one after I pushed "Exit game".

Exactly, so lets give them time to test it first, to make sure it works.

If your food get delayed at a resturant what gets you more pain.

if the waiter says "am sorry the food will be done in about XX mihokers"

or if the waiter says "it be done when its rdy" then leaves the building

And what happens when they say "We'll have a patch out buy X date" and 2 days before a new major bug is found to have been introduced? They have to delay it. Then people get pissed off because they broke their word about the date release. You just can't win.

So they take the safer approach by saying "we know there are issues and we are trying to resolve them. We will release a patch when we think we have it nailed down".

We just have to be patient is all.

We just have to be patient? Are you ignoring what Bethesda has done? They relesed an unfinished game, they scammed us on our money and should be sued for it. And now while they are counting their 'caps' we have to wait for them to relese another update. They should be forced to create another update right now. I've been trying to contact them but I get ignored, it's so damn frusterating, I just gave away my money for nothing.

I was hopeing to read more bug fixes than that. Crashes to me seem to happen I dunno I would say atleast 40 min to and hr, doesn't seem to bother me just that these quest are SO bothersome. Oh the buggy quests just completly ruin it for me. Dont even get me started on the ultra lux hotel thoes quest in there man oh my gosh. I stay away from there. Nevertheless thanks for keeping us informed any patch is better than none at this point.

Mine seems finished. A bit buggy at times, but finished. Bugs exist people, get used to it. Feel free to make a huge bug free game like this with the same tools and prove me wrong.

I do not feel scammed in the least. I came into this eyes wide open. I knew there would be issues. (Like Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3 before it.) I knew the community would come to the rescue as they always do. ( folks.) I knew Bethesda would keep mum til they had something to say. (Gee, look at that, Gstaff posted about an up coming patch. :P)

This feels like all other releases I've been part of. Par for the course as they say.

They should be forced to create another update right now.

Really? Wow. Impatient much?

Thanks for the update Gstaff. :)
