I despair, Bethesda making a Wii game

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:52 am

Just watched a video review for Medieval Games, ahhhh. Wasting time making stuff for the Wii, instead of doing what they do best. I'm sure those of you waiting for TESV will be happy to know that they're concentrating on projects like this.

Bethesda isn't making this, Vir2l Studios is (Vir2l Studios is another company owned by Zenimax Media).

Bethesda is not developing this game. Just like they didn't develop Rogue Warrior, Wet or Fallout New Vegas. Besides, what's the problem? If they wanted to make a wii game they would, it's hardly a waste of time if it makes them money after all.

Like the Wii is so different from the 360? Bethesda shifted from producing PC games for advlts years ago.

Yep. That's what the trailer said. That's a whole 'nother studio.

Well, Bethesda is developing Fallout: New Vegas, it's just that they're teaming up with Obsidian to do it. :P

Not possible due to it being unable to have patches for bugs in games or even the hard drive not large enough for dlc......

True.

Edit: Nevermind looked up all their past games release dates, seem they take about two to four years to develop their games.

True.

How has the game part of Bethesda stayed alive? I mean the last thing they released was Fallout 3 almost two years ago. Not like their published games are big hits...

They stay alive by absorbing the will of their fanbase like some kind of giant..psychic..alien..thingy.

Why oh why are there so many people who don't know the difference between Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks? It's not that hard to figure out people. One of the latest comments in the first video that came up in a google search for the trailer says:

Horrible game. it's Bethesda's way of 'pleasing the crowd'. It even has bad glitches in it. DO NOT GET!

Oy... the facepalm smiley doesn't even come close to illustrating this situation...

Nope obsidian is doing the devloping, Bethesda has simply supplied them with game assets and lent them the rights for the franchise.

I really love my Wii (Heh heh) and wouldn't mind seeing a waggling WRPG on it. Sure it'll probably better on a PC, but it'll be interesting.

Well, the FAQ says:
Who is developing the game?
In conjunction with Bethesda Softworks, Fallout: New Vegas is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the creator of award winning RPGs such as Neverwinter Nights 2. Obsidian is also led by the founders of Black Isle Studios - the developers of the original Fallout and Fallout 2.

EDIT: Wikipedia only lists Obsidian as the developer, I lose.

Bethesda Softworks is publishing it. :whisper:

Bethesda Game Studios, I'm sure, is at least somewhat involved in the development. But they aren't really helping make it.

Really? I was so sure Obsidian did all the actual developing while Bethesda gave them the GECK, game assets, allowed them to use the franchise and oversee the development.
