Did It Flop?!?

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 10:15 pm

It's way way way too early to say if it flopped or not. As long as we're getting support for this game from the devs as its been shown we are, it's going to be fine. The more I read and watch the better I'm feeling about it though. An argument can be made that pre first day patch made the reviews a little distorted though. I actually don't mind the CoD fans who don't like this game to not play. Good riddance. I play CoD but I have respect for games that aren't CoD and especially ones that aren't released every year just to make money... Just saying.

i had a friend come over to play and he enjoyed it but even with bots it got so intense i had to put it down and relax

bots are a bit harsh on the opposing team sometimes but i really cant wait for psn to be up...thats when Brink will blossom

it didnt flop in my opinion

I think once the bugs are worked out of the game, and this includes the PC version, it'll do fairly well. There are reviews out there that address it poorly, but just about all are opinionated (they didn't like the non-Hollywood explosions) and were done without going online. You have to consider that bots will automatically awknowledge your presence and this can take some of the fun from the gameplay. It's much more difficult to slide, fire off a round while doing so, and slide back out without them autofiring as soon as you get within range, whereas online you can manage this before the people you're playing against even realize what's going on. There's also less tactics to consider. Bots normally just bullrush the objectives. It's a whole other kind of tricky when you got a coordinated group moving forward slowly, with other perched in high places sniping you.

Not to mention bots tend to be a bit more predictable. Playing with people just makes things so much more fun. If you have the PS3, don't fret and just tough it out 'til your network's back. I'm sure you'll have a blast, and hopefully you XBox users will have the game working more tolerably (graphics wise) once its been out awhile.
