did this bug anyone else

It is good for 360 owners, mildly inconvienient for PS3 and PC.

Luckily, I am a 360 owner, but the important thing is that everyone will get the DLC, eventually.

I just have to decide whether or not purchasing the DLC when it comes out is worth it compared to waiting for a GotY edition. Knowing me, I won't care, and will get both.

No one should - let the consoles speak for themselves. Console-exclusive games convince people to buy a console not because it's superior, or even because they think it's superior, but because it's backers payed a bit more to get an exclusive game. I think we can all agree that we'd all be better off if we got the content at the same time.

all im saying is that if this was ps3 exclusive more people would be mad because most people think the 360 is better and if one console was going to get stuff it should be this one, because more people will get it.
all im saying is that the ps3 people wouldnt be complaining if this was ps3 exclusive. they get stuff all the time but when we get stuff they whine.
sorry ps3 guys. you will have to wait.

Am i the only one that is kinda glad that it is going to be an Xbox exclusive.
the ps3 gets cool stuff all the time (the walton outfit in RDR, in Arkham asylum the ps3 users could play as joker)
i believe that the 360 is the better system, thats just my opinion . but it is more popular, so it should get more console exclusives then the ps3, because more people will play them.
if this was a ps3 exclusive then more people would be complaining. you guys get console exclusives, why shouldnt we
Maybe it should be PC exclusive, then. That should make you extra happy.

You're right - I totally wouldn't be complaining if the NV DLC was a PS3 exclusive. Nor would I complain if it wasn't exclusive at all. No one would complain, in fact.

Overall, I'd prefer the latter option. No whining > rampant whining.

Works for me. Maybe people would stop buying consoles, and ruining the gaming industry.

Probably within days or weeks of the 360 DLC release, just like before.

Weeks??? But the PS3 got the dlc after a year? Are we talking about FO3?

An overly simplistic view.

But it's true. :P
Pure PC games are, usually, so much better than games adapted to play on both PC's and consoles.

That sounds like an argument for why PC games are superior to console ports, not why consoles are "ruining games". DRM is ruining games, too. Everyone's got their problems.

if any of you have read Game informer magazine, then you are aware of their "the good, the bad and the ugly" section

Well in the Good section they put good news on topics like games and such, in the bad they put bad news, and im not quite sure what the criteria is for the ugly section.

But back on topic.

I looked through the good section and i noticed something about FNV so i read it. it was about the upcoming DLC. With it being in the "good section" i assumed that there might be some hope that it meant that it wouldnt be 360 exclusive.

That was not the Case. It was in the "good section" Becuase it was 360 exclusive. i dont exactly see how that is a good thing.

Did anybody else notice this, and did it bug you.

It didnt bug me because i hadn't saw it, but now ive read it, im pissed off.
Apparently its just 'timed' DLC, how they can make it exclusive to 360 is beyond me, they owe us all in a way..

Critics tend to be biased by their own tastes and it never fits everyone's tastes. Same concept as how a stereotype never fits an entire group perfectly. More and more, I am disagreeing with various news reporting groups, but that is a whole other argument to start with.
I don't think the XBOX 360 is the ideal testing ground for bugs based off of general player demographics but likely it is rated as the largest source of players that they want to cater to. We PC and PS3 owners are treated like the older and middle child respectively. PC is old enough to take care of itself. Just wander around NVNexus to find what you want or make it yourself in geck. PS3 held the crown in console wars during the psx era, it really doesn't get any attention anymore (just like any middle child). The Nintendo is more like that creepy older uncle that acts like a kid. He isn't even invited to these events.

It isn't ideal but that is pretty much the situation right now.

You made me lol :P As someone with the spoilt younger brat of a console (and I'm not contesting it) I do feel sorry for PS3 users - although not so much for PC players, because they get all the fantastic mods to play around with until it reaches them. I hope it doesn't take too long to come out on all platforms - I might be in the lucky demographic in this case, but I still don't see why/how exclusivity helps anything (apart from being used as guinea pigs, I suppose).
Like someone else said, I highly doubt anyone owning the game on another platform will rush out and buy a 360 just to play it earlier

i think it works more like this. if 360 gets more things then a different console, people will think that the 360 is better.

they will tell people that the 360 is better. the people he tells will believe its better and will tell others they think its better.

swaying peoples decisions on what console to buy

A theory:
Thing is that the americans are many like we all know and they tend to buy xbox since its microsoft.
meanwhile asia buys ps3 since its sony.
Even though both countries buy each other console its just people thing about "supporting there country"
Meanwhile Europe just buys whatever they feel like buying since they are not supporting any company.

Wow dude, way to by myopic. The playstation ruled the console wars of the two previous generations, so Americans have no problem buying something from a non-US company. Moreover, the Wii outsold both, again an asian company. The reason why the X-box won this round of the console wars is that they 1) got a head start on the others, and 2) the playstation initially priced themselves out of the race. 3) the x-box has a larger catalogue of games.

I blame Sony for this anyway. Can't blame Microshaft for taking advantage of greedy distributors. Sony has the money and the know how. They should have burried Microshaft and the xbox with superior games right off the bat. It's a load of crap that all the PS3 has for the most part are ports of games built for lesser systems.

DLC should be for everyone. However, Bethesda isn't to blame. They are just greedy.

Crap... Screwed again for owning a PS3... I already know what it'll be, more stupid aliens at Groom Lake/Area 51. The jumping point will be Northwest Passage.

Well said! But i think eventually they will release it on all platforms. An investment wise company like Bethesda wouldn't miss a chance to cash in even more.

Would you personally pass up a chance to make millions more in profits from releasing it on all platforms?

I can't see why preferential treatment for the X-Box seems unusual to folks. The game is selling 3 X-Box units to each PC unit that it sells. Bethesda is claiming 5 million copies shipped to dealers and $300 Million in sales. However Actual sales figures total around 1M which should be about $500 M retail.

Oh, and for the folks here trashing Steam—20% of PC sales were made on Steam,

Besides, why shouldn't console players get a break. They pay more for games, they can't take advantage of mods or the command line to compensate for bugs and poor game design, and they have to struggle with nerfed controls that were designed for 2D platformers..

I'm going to wait it out and see what people say about so even though I am on the 360 I probably won't get it until it is out for everyone else anyways. If it doesn't fix my two main complaints about the game I ain't wasting 10 franks on it.

Look at it at a PC point of view. The XBox 360 gets the DLC for this game. Then they whinge and whine how glitchy and bad the gameplay is. Then the ones that are doing it for the PC makes a better and a polished one. Maybe there is a glitch here and there but not as bad as the one for the poor svcker that has it for the XBox.

Look at The Whitcher. That is a PC game and its a good game. Little rough at the edges but its still good.

Intentional or not the consoles are paving the way for PC users to get DLC's which are more likely to work first time due to the console user feedback.

I've never had any problems with steam and actually like it, but they do insist on releasing updates for online games in the UK on Friday nights :banghead:
