DLC Update

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:20 pm

But why give Bethesda exactly what it wants? Which if you didn't notice is money.

So instead of feeding the money monster, buy it off eBay the day it comes out. It'll probably take two days shipping and you have the game without contributing to it's sales.

Wouldn't that mean the game would be used?

Also, I do it because I love Bethesda Game Studios, and I want to help pay their paychecks. It's not their fault that ZeniMax's publishing department (Bethesda Softworks) are money-hoarders who are ruining Bethesda (the developing company)'s reputation (don't confuse the two for one another). I will not be buying New Vegas' DLC, though, but I'm not sure what helps and what doesn't. If you don't buy the DLC, Bethesda Softworks claims there aren't enough sales to do it equally from the beginning. If you do, Bethesda Softworks continues to assume that they can continue their practices and still make money off of you. What is the right way out?

Man, that looks neat! Too bad PC/PS3 users arent getting it... :sadvaultboy: Why couldn't thay release the DLCs on the same day, so its fair and equal?? Bethesda's all about money nowadays. The DLC doesnt look bad and the Ghost People have pretty cool outfits...

Actually no. Just because it's on eBay doesn't mean it's used. I've bought and sold stuff on there brand new in the wrap.

Don't buy DLC seems to be the best thing to do right now. I still hate to shove money at Bethesda Softworks, so I will probably buy it on eBay and do my part in spreading the love in (hopefully) how good TESV is. Beth might not get a sale from me, but hopefully the game will get great reviews and Bethesda Game Studios will regain some reputation.

Just to clarify, people here do understand that Bethesda Game Studios is a great developing company devoted to producing large and high-quality games while Bethesda Softworks is really a separate branch of ZeniMax that just happens to share the same name and unequally distributes Bethesda Game Studios (and, in this case, Obsidian's)'s great creations, right?

Complain to Bethesda for DLC issues. Not development. You can make that smiley shoot at Obsidian and you would be correct.

That may be true on the BETHESDA FORUMS that people like Bethesda. But then you have the idiots that think they developed the game like smarty pants up there who hate it. Because of this, I believe their rep is going down, not to mention Beth(publisher's) slap to the face of everyone not on the 360.

None of that stuff is up to Obsidian. Bethesda Softworks are the ones who made that decision. Obsidian had no involvement in any exclusivity deals, they just make the game.

Bethesda Softworks are the publishers, if I understand correctly they basically just hande the funding. They set the deadlines. They make the exclusivity deals.

Obsidian are the developers. They do what Bethesda Softworks tells them.

Fixed. Don't start a console war, and it's not Obsidians fault. They only made the game and all, Beth were the publishers.

Looks like a lot of fun. Glad I got NV on xbox.

Too bad about PC and ps3 though. I know that I'm getting the better deal and all, but it's really kind of messed up.

EDIT: I agree that everyone should get DLC at the same time but... wow. I know that as of right now the DLC is only going to be on xbox, but who among us really believe that's going to happen? That's what was said about Fallout 3 DLC, and everyone got those. You're gonna have to wait a while, and I feel for ya, I really do. But it's not that big of a deal, after all, Bethesda is a company you know? If I ran a company and Microsoft offered me a bunch of money to just offer my product to a small group of people for a few months then I could offer it to everyone, I'd say yes too.

Dammit, it sounds pretty damn cool. Oh well. Now I have something to look forward to. I might just wait for the GOTY edition after all. Having all of the DLCs at one while I am bored of the game will definitely spice things up.

Does sound nice. In a way it's good I can't get on release, this way I can see how people react to it and I don't have to buy a pig in a bag once they release it on PC. Not so bad that something good wouldn't come of it.

Either that or you'll do that thing where you put the game in the drive, but then remember how painfully boring you now find it before you can boot it up, and then take it back out again lol.

Oh boy, 360 exclusive means that PC players wont be able to ruin all the hidden items by looking through the GECK.

I doubt it, GOTY for FO3 got me back into the game. And I don't even like FO3 as much as I love New Vegas.

You know what... i'm getting sick of this... in these threads, there's always a PC user who thinks they are so high and mighty with their rig and console player's are just all trash and how dare they release it for console first... I played on PC for a great while, and it was just getting rediculous the money I had to shell out for new parts, so I went to console, plus, I like their new features and fan base. You can say that you don't like exclusivity or the like, tha'ts fine, but when one idiot elitist on PC opens their mouth... it makes the rest of the PC users who are really nice and helpful in explaining the technical sides of things look like that too.

I think the DLC thing is pretty gay but i'm not going to whine and moan about it, i'm on the PS3 and i'll wait paitiently... hell, it'll probably have the first patch to whatever was buggy on the DLC by then and i'll have a better quality product than what the 360 users have when it first launches. Why don't we all be advlts about this and grow up? It svcks, yeah, but there's plenty to do in the mean time. ESV: Alinor is going to be unbelievable and all the morons who like to go all keyboard warrior saying "DEATH TO BETHESDA" or "I'M NEVER BUYING A GAME FROM BETHESDA AGAIN " are just kidding themselves and making themselves look like total D bags. Face it... we will all buy elderscrolls five (whether or not from Ebay or gamestop or whatever) and squee like lil' twilight fans when it's close to release... get over it already.

Just be patient, it's hard to do, but it'll help put some hairs on the chest and grow some character. I too was once irrational about this, ready to spit fire out of my mouth but when it comes down to it we just need to chill and breathe a few times...

please don't start a console war here, again, without console sales the pc version would likely be able to be sold. Console sales FAR out weight PC sales for the fact that you need a bung hole load of money to have a rig that'll run this game effiecently, most people don't have that kind of money to dump into a computer... they have other obligations so they get a console. Just think, please, before you throw kerosene onto brush in the forest and start a fire. I'm mainly directing that to the idiot a few posts back with the size 40 text ready to go tar and feather someone who had nothing to do with this DLC decision...

but honestly guys, just let these threads die already... not gonna make them release it for the other two platforms any faster :o Okay? Let's all have a modicum of civility

Is that an Anvil house in the background? Who knew Redguard architecture came to the Mojave?

And why does the first part of the summary sound like mediocre fan-fiction?

Well i suppose i'll have to hurry and get a 360 copy of New Vegas. As much as i hate to admit it, that screen-shot intrigues me.

Never mind, i don't care for the story-line. I'm pretty sick of the BoS as it is.

Really? Mediocre? It struck me as very Fallout-y. I'm realy excited to meet this new faction.

Whatever. Won't buy it.

The whole premise is kind of lame too. Nothing to be excited with, just a new location with a bunch of turrets and dudes you are going to save from other dudes for a gauntlet and a gas mask.

If someone buys a 360 copy for this... lol. If someone buys a console for this... LOL.

I don't doubt Obsidian's writing, its just that first paragraph, "Ghost People"?...The AC did it? I mean seriously, if you would of told me that last week and said its about to be canon, I would of laughed.

I'm not exactly fond of the cynicism that's been festering over everything new to come out from Bethesda.

Honestly, I think the premise for Dead Money is cool, and to the people that are already trashing it (because you obviously have enough information to pass judgment on it *wink*), I'd just say you're being too hasty in jumping on the "I'm going to pretend I'm a video game purist an bash everything new" bandwagon.

A DLC... create fast, compress, tighten, simplify, compress again and do your best - then give a quick summary of it. My guess. :P
