Wait 5 years for the next TES game.

Next time don't do everything with one character.

Thank Todd and his marketing strategies.
What?!
I guess the question should be asked how does one role play when one is alone?
If you don't know, no one can tell you...

By using their imagination. Put restrictions to your character. I.e. I came up the fear of thunder one day as a Morrowind character roleplay... he starts to go berzerk whenever there's thunder, even though he is kind-hearted otherwise. Things like that. Don't think the game as something to "go through", but more as an "experience".

I play Skyrim right now with
- an Altmer mage (College, Daedric quests) that has evil intentions and will become an outlawed necromancer
- a Nord that will do Companions, Stormcloakms and become Dragonslayer, otherwise exploring the dungeons and doing all sorts of humanitarian, honorfull and stupid deeds, be they quests or not :)
- an Argonian assassin/thief (DB, Thieves Guild) who is a cold-hearted professional killer. Your basic smug guy from any movie really, except kills for the profit. No bs and nothing personal, just coin
- and recently started Imperial bard (Bard's College, Imperials), a kind of weakling who tries to negotiate himself out of trouble. (Doesn't really work in Skyrim though.)

That, or play Daggerfall and explore the whole map if you really want to be a completionist.

Give your character a personality. Is he good/bad? What is his backstory? How would he react morally in certain situations?

Let your character's personality decide what quests to do. If you considered your character to be a good guy, obviously he wouldn't do the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood quests. And if he was a Two-handed-fighting, heavy-armor-wearing Nord, he might not be suited for the College of Winterhold.

Basically just make your character feel like a real person, or someone who would make sense existing in the game world. Give him fears, strengths and limitations, and let these things be "rules" that affect how you play the game.

Have you discovered all 350-ish locations?

If so...my advice is play something else while you wait for DLC. There's a demo for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning coming on Tuesday.

save your game in a different folder, dont lose it. Go do something else, then 5months later, loads of new mods + maybe dlc will be out and you can use your character and wreck havoc on tamriel

Download a nvde mod or two from Nexus and start a Kajiit porm collection. There's something strangely erotic about naked Kajiit. Perhaps it's the fur...

Play in DiD, master diffclty, no smithing-enchanting-sneaking. I'm tryin that now, you cant imagine epic feeling after clearing a dungeon like that, which also extends playing time by 10x.

Did you finish/do all the dungeons/caves/forts etc.?

PS: Do a new character without smithing, enchanting, or alchemy.

Wait for mods. They'll be what really makes this game, I pity anyone that can't use them because they are the reason I played oblivion for 200 hours.

I've clocked almost 300 hours on Skyrim so far without mods. Just imagine. :D
