Origins was awesome. Then EA took over and, well. Things went downhill from there, BioWare svcks now.

EA svcks. They destroy everything they touch. They coast off of sports titles.

Exactly. Now they don't even listen to what fans they have left, they keep saying that DA2 svcked and Bioware insists that DA2 was awesome(which is exactly why they needed to make fake reviews  ) Idea: Bioware should get Bethesda to be their publisher, imagine the epic games that could be made)

I shouldn't have smirked, but I did!!

I remember when Dragon Age 2 was about to be released. I kept saying that the game was really going to svck, and all the blind fans were not listening. But it turned out I was right, so very right.

Ditto.
Dragon Age: Origins was such a good old school rpg, that it felt like playing Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights 2. Those were the days. But I lost my faith in Bioware now, they've become a sellout. I puth all my trust only in Bethesda now. They've yet to disappoint me.

IMO they're exactly the same...neither listen to their fanbase and go where the money leads them.

Actually, EA was in on Dragon Age: Origins as well. Why they did what they did with Dragon Age 2, I don't know. It just seems like EA wants to milk Bioware's games. Gotta have multiple sequels. I think EA came in while they were working on the first Mass Effect, which is why I believe Bioware still has most if not all their freedoms with that game. Of course I could be completely wrong, this is just my own personal interpretation and remembering of what's happened to Bioware.

It's an unkind thing to do, but admittedly funny (Dragon Age is goofy at best and insulting at worst, and Skyrim is... Skyrim).

I would've thought it'd be easy to fix, though... I've refreshed and nothing's changed.

Dragon Age Origins was made while EA didn't own BioWare yet, they pretty much took over BioWare at the last moment and put their name on it. So essentially, they didn't have anything to do with it.

Heh, saw this yesterday. Btw, I actually think that while DA2 might not excactly be the best game ever made, it is quite fun. Just my opinion, though.

While I've never played it, I'd imagine it not being a horrible game as it's own thing, but from what I understand, it's a big step down from the original, which is why so many fans of the original did not like it.

I liked DAII more than origins. But that's not saying it's that good of a game.

while the gameplay in DA2 is superior to origins, they have re-used a lot of the environments making exploration feel dull and repetitive.
and while there were a lot of choices they were only on the personal level (molding the character of hawke) instead of choosing the fate of nations like in origins.
not a bad game (i enjoyed it) but not what the fans were expecting.

I liked Origins because your motivation and the way people treated you was heavily influenced by which race and origin you chose at the beginning of the game. If you like old school RPGs you should check it out, it is a very good game. DA 2 was kind of like the ass baby of Mass Effect and Dragon age. You could only play as a human, you had considerably less conversation options due to the speech wheel like in ME, combat was ramped up into a much more action oriented style. I hated DA2.

This thread seems to be about Dragon Age Origins vs Dragon Age 2, so I'll just say this:

DA2 was praised by critics and bashed by the players. So I started playing it with not so high expectations. And even though there's stuff that's bad (exploding enemies, re-used dungeons) I really liked the improvements made from DA:O. Now the Rogue and Warrior have as many abilities to choose from as the Mage. The combat felt much more alive and less rigid. The player voice made my hero feel much more real, and the companion characters kicked DA:O's party members' butts!

It's still the best game I have played this year (and I really liked Origins). :)
