You're right. Dragonbone weapons should have been in the vanilla game. I just installed the mod that puts them into the game on PC. It's too bad XBox and PS3 players can't have them too.

Maybe a DLC?

I thought the reason there werent any dragonbone weapons was because the dragonbones would be too brittle to be used as weapons. That said we have dragonbone armour so that point is pretty muc null, I don't know. It would have been cool, I would have loved to have weapons fashioned out of dragonbone/dragonscale.

I think it's rediculous that there are no Dragonbone weapons too, if you can shape and mold Dragonbones into armour then you should be able to do the same with weapons.

And if you like the ancient Nord Armor then why don't you wear it? Stats mean nothing since you can upgrade it to best even Daedric armour.

i saw the dragon bone weapons mod only thats just re textured orc weapons. you would think that but a dragon, a ceature that has lived Centurys. would have some inhuman strong bones and resistant scales. what i think would be likly is the reenforc the bones with iorn like in the armor or with ebony. use the bone as the back bone of the sword and the ebony maybe as the blade it self, de ebony as the re- enfored backbone and the bone sharpend as the blade. and maybe for a 2h mace a small skull of a dragon o top of a large wing bone enfored with iron steel or ebony.

Since you like light armour I'm sure it's possible to upgrade it past Ebony, assuming you have a really powerful enchanted gauntlet and circlet and an even more powerful potion.

It's not just a retex, it doesn't replace the original Orcish weapons, it adds new weapons just with an edited mesh and stats.

Not necessarily. Armour is there to save you from cutting, penetration or blunt trauma. A weapon like a sword must have the right properties like being able to keep a good edge, right weight and the possibility to balance it properly etc. Kevlar is great for stopping bullets in real life, but that doesn't mean that a kevlar knife or a kevlar bullet is a winning concept.

dragon bone is a solid material, and why would they use it in other games like dragon age or monster hunter as a material to make weapons, if it has got the right qualities? i just would say you could use it to make weapons, use stronger elemtens like ebony or steel or an other methal to make it stronger.

but i can see why they did that like you have leather and hide there are no weapons for those either, but still dragon bones ar solid.

Yeah I know, but I meant base Daedric armour.

I got that, but making leather armor better then base Daedric armor does not make it the most powerful armor in the game... Updated Daedric armor would still be better..

Also more importantly, can you really make leather armor more powerful then base Daedric and Ebony armor? Cause that would just be strange...

no thats not what i mean i mean that bone is a solid material like metal and leather is a flexebel no a solid material. becase dragon bone armor is a heavy armor type like ebony and deadric (made out of solid materials) it would make sens that ther are dragon bone weapons.

There was a paper and pencil role playing game called Tekumel in which steel was very rare and the average weapon was essentially a kind of leather -- which was cured in such a way so that it became nearly as hard as iron.

It seems to me that dragon bone would be as good a material as malachite (glass) -- no less plausible.

I'd like to make dragon better than daedric and add weapons to it myself. I could do daedric but I just use that for weapons and use dragon for armor. I know I'm sacrificing a few points of protection but I like it better and thinks it matches the character better -- you know dragonslayer and all. My smithing allows me to improve dragon armor quite a bit. My enchanting is not quite good enough to match the best items I'm finding though yet.

Too brittle to be used as weapons -> too brittle to be used as armour.
