Dragon is easier to obtain.

Note: Dragonscale is still the best light armor.

Probably because Daedric Armor is a helluva lot harder to get.

Agreed, I think they have it like that because it's the unique armor of the game.

Yep. Only armor that has ever been better than Daedric in TES series, was Madness Armor from Shivering Isles. But that was also kind of a different form of Daedric too.

If Deadric is just Ebony with a Deadric heart wonder why they didn't do the same for one of the light armors. Daedric Leather sounds cool.

Daedric is ebony armor with the soul of a Daedra infused in it by magic. Ebony is required for it capacity to store magic/be enchanted.

I think tis related to the days of Morrowind.....in esscense daedric is ebony embuned with a Daedric soul. In Morrowind, different item types could hold different amounts of 'souls'. Ebony being very high quality was ther only armor that theorectically could have held a daedric soul.

Now that any item can hold any power of soul, it not really important.....but the lore still carries it over.

on a bit of a side note, i don't understand why a glass bow would be more powerful than an Eleven bow, or what makes an Ebony bow more powerful than a glass bow. I suppose it all comes down to people wanting numbers, so something has to be better than something else.

Yeah that's strictly related to tiered gear. No actual reason.

So ebony + leather = Daedric Light Armor. Sort of like Imperial.

Daedric is made from the Daedra, that's one of the reasons, plus it's always been like that.

You all know that there's a cap on the effectiveness of armor, so it really doesn't mater which one is "best" here. You can make steel armor just as effective as daedric.

Lorewise Daedric is rarer.

It's basically ebony armour that has been possessed by a demon/daedra

Just because Daedric is better, it doesn't mean it is harder to make.

When we speak of 100 we are referring to smithing. Its common sense that smithing and AR are two separate issues.

'sigh' when they are both legendary there is no difference, as the both surpass the 'invisible' armour cap (i think this goes for Ebony aswell?)... plus without the shield Dragonplate IS better than Deadric..

i find it sad that the bad guys, like with so many things, even get the best looking armors. my char would never wear something made out of daedric hearts.

I thought daedric armor was supposed to be the sort of armor the daedra (specifically Dremora lords) wear - its always looked like that, yes? Having "light daedric armor" would be like having "light orc armor" or "heavy elf armor".

Not really, as I understand it, the Dremora don't wear any armor, it is apart of ther skin/appearance. Daedric armor is fashioned from their essence, by absorbing it into armor.

However I think that Ebony is the only material strong enough to hold Daedric essence without falling apart.

I do think Dremora wear armor. Dremora are a Daedric Prince's variety of humans in their realms. They jsut wear armor but armor made from materials forged in the Oblivion planes outside the laws of physics/the earthbones.

This is not possible. There is no light armor material capable of holding a Daedric soul. Glass might be able because it's material is close to ebony but it wouldn't be lore correct.
