Dragon mounts. Will not happen.

Post » Sun Jul 08, 2012 6:40 am

If Bethesda adds in dragon mounts, it would make half the dungeons and quests simple. There are certain shouts and objectives at the top of mountains that you have to traverse through a dungeon to get to. Also the game would have a hard time trying render the frame rate it would take to fly over the entire map, Dragon Mounts should only be a mod.

I still managed to skip Forelhost's dungeon entirely and get to the Word Wall with Whirlwind Sprint without the use of a dragon.

True, Alexander.
But a ton of fans are begging for it, even today.

I will say again. I don't understand the appeal of dragon mounts.

I was reading a review about Dawnguard and half of the review was "I really think they will add Dragon Mounts because of the Game Jam"
Dovahkiin slays dragons..Not befriends them and flies across Nirn having a magical adventure. Dragons would be to quick of a way of travel, what would be the point of putting so much time and effore into the world of skyrim if the player is just going to fly over it -__-

They should just stick to horses and I would be perfectly fine.

It's not a selling point for me, obviously.
I don't mind the choice, but if I had played the game and gotten a dragon mount at the end of the main quest I would have been slightly like http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTHEAy2O4RNZBamvWhE96gdxiAI9Hy4EotL9pE6pEdLQmq7j_r5-i3y_e0UhA.

Gryphon mounts pl0x. Or just regular gigantic eagles. Skyrim's geography and lack of roads on the map makes the game a pain int he ass if you don't want to use fast travel.

That's the point, You're supposed to explore and find your own way to your destination. Not fly there in 5 seconds.
There is no way they will put DragonMounts in the game or any other flying animal, Werewolves are already fast enough.

If Beth planned on having flying mounts wouldn't you think the VL with its wings would have had the ability to fly? No, it just hovers slightly off the ground.

Erm, the mountain ranges in this game are ridiculous. I'd rather be able to complete some sort of master quest or run through the entire main quest to unlock a mount at the end. You either end up lost and aggravated, traveling 20 minutes out of your way to get around the range then having to follow it back around to get to your destination. then you have to repeat it for ONE QUEST. That or you can find spots along the mountain and use your zero gravity horse to scale the mountain, then making a mistake and having it barrel down the end of the mountain and killing it.

A slow moving, flying mount would be a much better addition to the game. I wouldn't say dragons but there are other flying beast alternatives.

I just don't see that happening, to easy. There are roads available, you just have to stick to them.

Even if they wanted to put in dragon mounts, they can't for the same reason they axed the levitate spell: the way the walled cities load would break it.

Although, I'd like it if the VL could fly, it doesn't even have to be able to fly far, just up cave walls and shiz.

I like having to scale mountains and spending 30 mins trying to reach my destination, Skyrim is supposed to have a tough landscape.

This is a good point, but I felt that Scarface the game did an excellent way of fixing this. If your character swam too far away from anything a shark would come up and eat you. What if while on mount and you went to far, a dragon would swoop down and pick you off? We already have walled cities. I am able to make jumps in Whiterun that should put me well over the wall.

They even took acrobatics out, They want player to have to work hard to get somewhere.

My horse dying from a 1 foot fall makes it pretty hard to get around. :(

I've no complaint if they added it personally I don't really care, it's a single player game it's up to the player whether they want to use it or not. If someone want to skip dungeon and get to the top then let them.

How the hell do you get a dragon in a dungeon anyway?

I would use the mount's but I wouldn't cheat it. Maybe they would add a flater area? Less citys, less mountains, more bland.
