Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 9:20 pm

and no i didn't stop playing the game there so was extremly happy to find out they can get stronger but really 1st time i cast it i was like USELESS!

also I dont want Skyrim over run with dragons like Oblivion got over run with gates id be happy if 1 or 2 dragons could be seen flying about every now and then but 3-infinity might be a bit much ... so how many more quest should I do for the main quest so dragons dont start mad spawning? last mission i had was to
Spoiler
go to some cave (i think it was a cave) north east of Marthal and gather a horn of something
my last save was at Marthal

Just keep up the main quest, you'll progress your first shout. And it's totally worth it.

Spoiler
Too late I am afraid. Once you kill one dragon, the random ones show up. They won't get more numerous the further along the main quest you go though. Tha ones you have to meet for MQ are mostly named unique dragons anyway.

All the shouts have some use in the right situation. The one word FUS can save your life shouted at the right moment against a melee heavy hitter.

i think most shout are useless and rarely use them.
As for dragons it seems to be the more main quest you do, the more dragons spawn

i was hoping the 1st shout would allow me to throw people and now learning that does get stronger that it would then do damage at rank 2 then obliterate at rank 3

Rank 3 will grab all the people in the wide line of effect and toss them all back onto the floor or into walls. It's really nice.

Would be too much if it did as you suggest. Especially when you can get them at low level. Even the first rank staggers to give you some time. The third rank is powerful enough, I think. Some of the other shouts are nice as well. Others....not so much.

I remember when they revealed (prior to release) info about the ethereal form and thought it sounded pretty cool. Had it on one character and used it once. Not much milage out of that one. :(

The only real problem I have with some of the shouts is how long the cooldown is for them.

The best things are done gradually...

If you have the best straight away, then you have nothing to look forward to later. To be honest what you seem to expect is a nuclear bomb which is ridiculously over-the-top for a game in a fantasy medieval world.

There are some pretty darn powerful shouts in the game.
Unrelenting Force at first is really wimpy. In the end it's okay for laughs.

Disarm is very useful. Atleast when it's level 3.

I got Disarm shouted by a Draugr boss (think in main quest) and I had a heck of a time finding my sword (I just upgraded and enchanted it too). Luckily I found it behind an Urn.

Thank the 9 Divines (yes I said 9 I am herietic!) it does not obliterate at rank 3 that would totally svck. Its bad enough getting tossed around like a rag doll.

Hmm, I expected to be a master marksman when I started the game and shot my first arrow! I was really disappointed when I could barely hit anything...

Wow, that deadly dragon mod looks cool. I wonder if I dare to install it though hahahaha

theres some awesome shout i like using them, the sprint shout is good to get to platforms that are to far away, if only you could attack/cast/shout while jumping...there is a shout that willbe pretty rippie, all most abomb, but is a bit crap for friendly fire. you can look farward to it.

I really like Aura Whisper and Marked for Death (first shout found in the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary)! I was happy to finally get the first shout in aura whisper yesterday on my new stealth character! You will find it on the Northwind Mine summit (go through the mine to slay the dragon on top and get the shout.)

Amulet of Talos improves that by 20%.

Granted, but I rather feel like the cooldown should be at most a minute, and preferably around 20-30 seconds. Not enough to be all the time in combat, but often enough to come up regularly. This wouldn't work for some, but would work well for others.

As for the Amulet..well, my guy is a mage and needs that for magic which uses all the time. Shaving 20 seconds off of a 100 second CD isn't nearly so useful.

I am thinking about checking out a mod I saw that makes Speech affect Dragonshouting. Looked neat.

I find different shouts very useful on different characters... for instance, my thief loves becoming ethereal and being able to spot creatures through walls and my mage really loves being able to call a storm with a shout or freezing her opponents still in an iceblock.

For a word we absorb without even understanding what it is or what it's for... Fus seems pretty fairly powerful in itself.

i have used a lot of shouts. i use them as the enemy closes with me to stagger them.

unrelenting force is great to keep heavier enemys bouncing off walls etc.

throw voice is also great for a laugh.
