Dragonbone Swords

One thing that bothering me is that wouldn't all the weapons be blunt, since we all know bone can't really cut anything.

That there is a real-life bone knife. Also don't forget that a shark's teeth are made of bone. And they can cut through almost anything.

Armour is not a blade.

Plus it is dragon bones, I am pretty sure those are probably different than other bones.

Why would a Wookiee, an 8-foot-tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of 2-foot-tall http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ewok? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammatical_conjugation the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emancipation_Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests.

Am I the only one hoping the scabbards/sheathes for Dragonbone weapons to be made out of scales?

And swords do not pierce through things? What I'm saying is, bone is a completely viable material for making blades.

There's a spot on that page about knives. Ancient cultures were not stupid. And they made knives out of bone.

In other words, bone (not to mention DRAGON bone) can make swords. Sharp ones for cutting. It is viable.

/argument

Yes ancient races. As soon as we discovered metal and how to smelt it bone become useless. Most of these are also all for farming and piercing

Did you actually read your own link or are you just clutching straws.

It was viable back then, it is viable now.

Not to mention the fact that this is a game. And we are dealing with dragon bones.

So just accept that fact that there will be sharp bone swords that are superior to iron and steel.

Perhaps if the bone is magic enough to be ground down into powder, melted into an alloy of daedric steel, then reforged into a blade, giving its strength and bone-like appearance?

Would that satisfy both parties? Can we compromise by using our imagination?

It's a game. A sword can be made out of mammoth dung and do 20 points of E. coli poison damage on each hit.

If dragon bone and scale has the properties to be armor it can be a sword.

I like katana style stuff and in keeping with the Blades lore of dragon slaying I am hoping for a carved katana style weapon. Light and strong.

Wow.. I don't know if I would trust a leather sword...

Not all things that can make armor can make GOOD weapons.

Also just because it has the shape of a sword does not make it a GOOD weapon. I'll craft a steel sword and you can carve a sword from whale bone or even ivory. Which would you think would be better? While the ivory would be dense enough and could sharpen to a decent edge, it would also chip and break a lot easier than tempered steel.

Granted you can take the stance that this is a game and logic can be thrown out the window. Or that we have no bone IRL to compare a mythical beasts bone to. So it's kind of a moot point.

Dragonbone/scale arrows would be nice as well. I wish we could fletch in the game, it'd be useful in the beginning levels of the game.
i heard in one of the e3 interviews you can make crossbow bolts

I do hope the blade itself isn't bone

I hope it is... you can probably sufficiently sharpen to bone to be able to class it as a "blade". I do agree that I'd rather not see it looking like the Forsworn sword, though... I know they're supposed to, but I think they look too primitive.

I hope they make it have the Daedric Style just sharpen the dragon bone to a blade. Still hoping they have a Dragonbone Bow.... maybe if you know someone IRL who has beta you can find out?...

Read through the posts. I already stated that the dragonbone bow and arrow can be seen in the trailer at the :50 second mark.
