Dragonborn Emperor

I think the dragonborn should be able to be the new high king of skyrim

No, I'd prefer to be a close friend and confidante of Ulfric, always remaining humble and fighting for Skyirm.

Dovah-kiin = Dragon-Born

Dragon Born =/= Dragon Blooded

The Septims were Dragon Blooded, or so it was said. That was what allowed them to wear the Amulet of Kings. However none of that matters. All septims are dust. I'm not even sure I heard the new emperor called by name, cept for Coward. Theoritcally the Dragon-Born could probably rouse all of Skyrim and retake the empire, for a fourth time. If he so chose. But Bethesda wouldn't do that. Because that'd break lore, hard.

where are you getting this from? Septims were Dragonborn and having dragon blood is the same as being Dragonborn check your lore

You are wrong. Dova means dragon Dovakin means dragonborn. As far as we know, all Septims were Dragonborn. The problem arises that Reman and Tiber were not related, yet were both Dragonborn. Allysia (sp) and Reman were also probably not related. Thus an argument can be made that being Dragonborn is not good enough to be a legitimate heir to the throne

actually, as far as we know, it could go either way, but i stand by what i said

Aside from fake lore written by fans, there is nothing to suggest one can have dragon blood and not have a dragon soul. It was made up by someone at the lore forum and spread like wildfire for some ungodly reason.

No, the difference is Dragon Born is having the soul of a dragon. Dragon Blood was simply a gift bestowed upon the septim dynasty by Akatosh which passed down through the bloodline. Uriel Septim didn't fus-roh-dah those assassins last time I played oblivion. I've never heard of Uriel being summoned by the grey beards either. In fact when you meet them I believe that they tell you that the last person that was summoned was Talos himself. You'd think that if all of the septim line straight down from tiber was dragon born they'd make more of an effort to learn the shouts etc, it's kind of a big deal.

The right to rule isn't something given by gods, it is given by people. Being Dragonborn doesn't change this. Tiber Septim only became Emperor because he conquered Tamriel and established peace and prosperity. If he had been a tyrant he would likely never been able to hold it togeter, like Jagar Tharn tried to.
Currently it is the Medes who have been given the power, but I could easily see the Dovahkiin being names a better Emperor because both the Empire and especially the Nords hold those of Dragonblood in high regard. It would be a problem with the lack of specific details about him though, so if a new Emperor/Empress is named in DLC or something it would likely be with the Blessing(aid) of the Dragonborn.

give me a single piece of lore that states this plzzz. They cant shout because they havent killed dragons so they have to learn the hard way. Can your dovakin learn a single shout b4 killing a dragon? Honestly there is no diffrence, having dragon blood and being Dragonborn is the same thing. PLZ stop listing to fan made lore.

The connection with the rulers of the http://www.gamesas.com/wiki/Lore:Empire was thus there from the beginning - only those of the dragon blood were able to wear the Amulet of Kings and light the Dragonfires. All the legitimate rulers of the Empire have been Dragonborn

Yeah i kind of want the empire to fracture so that there are more factions. The best case scenario for me would be the Empire destroying the Thalmor but ending up with extreme loses and is no longer able to hold the empire togeather. Every provinces fractures and devolves into city states.

Being Dragonborn is not being royalty, Tiber Septim has no trace to the reman dynasty nor to the alessian one. The only way the Dragonborn could be considered an heir to the throne is if he/she was Emperor Mede II's son/daughter.

It would be strange to have a race-less, name-less, gender-less, class-less, everything-less Emperor in lore.

I think it's fair to say; I expected more fawning and general worship of the Dragonborn. Apart from a few 'gasps' when you take down your first dragon, the population studiously seems to ignore your legendary status. Perhaps a bit of general smiting is in order.

There are stories in TES about some guy wondering around being an undefeatable hero and an adventurer founding Kingdoms and starting huge wars then getting bored and abandoning it all to become an adventurer. When adventuring gets lame again he starts founding Kingdoms and starting wars again. Playing as that guy would be AWSOME.

That may have been the custom before the Oblivion Crisis but remember, Martin sacrificed himself as the request to Akatosh to seal the Gates to Oblivion forever.

So the need for a Dragonborn to keep alight the Dragonfires that guarded against Oblivion isnt there anymore.
