Dragons = rather annoying

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 6:20 pm

For me dragons are becoming somewhat annoying all of a sudden. At the start of the game dragons were quite rare. Infact the first few occasions that a random dragon spotted me and i here that music starting, i would always think to myself ' oh sh1t its time to get my gameface on '.

I would always be on the look out for them when travelling, scanning the skies for any potential danger.

As i have progressed and now at a much higher level, dragons now seem constantly appearing. I can honestly say i fight more dragons than sabre cats and bears. Its now become annoying, not because im still thinking ' oh [censored] ' but more ' oh please, im not interested ive got other things to do '. I just want to get on with what i was currently doing. Not take a 5 min timeout......

I wouldn't say dragons are boring.... more of a hinderence.

Honeslty the first few days of playing dragons were fun to fight, then after that it was like, "Oh come on already!"

It becomes highly annoying everytime I enter Dawnstar and The Mage's Guild a dragon appears. I learned that as soon as I arrive to get my bow out, because a dragon is coming.

Dragons have become as annoying as wolves.

They are far too common and kind of boring. Their primary method of damage is their breath weapon but if you have high resistance they need to amp up their physical attacks and not just lumber at you and snap their jaws.

My latest playthrough has been a redo of my thief and I have avoided the main quest at all costs.

I even did the special job in whiterun without activating the main quest there
Spoiler
even though Irileth someone knew I was inside Dragonsreach even though I was invisible and muffled lol

Anywho, avoiding the main quest has meant I can roam Skyrim without Dragons and it's great!

Nah they are generally needed otherwise you would be like, "Where are all the effin dragons".

Also they always have gold and stuff on them to loot.

I still love the dragons. They aren't as hard to kill anymore, but I love to watch them fly, attack and collapse in a bloodied heap when I am through with them. It never gets old!

I've come to dislike them. In the start it was cool but they're just spawning 5 times everytime I decide to take walk the roads of Skyrim. The worst thing is that they're messed up and never lands, they just fly around in circles bothering me. I haven't played in a month so I don't know if they've fixed that, but it's so damn annoying.

The problem with dragons is that they are spawned whenever you fast travel.

But exactly.... As you progress they are not hard to kill anymore. Its just become one big annoying hinderence for me.

Wait for them to land (don't have the shout to force land yet) and hopefully get in 3 or 4 arrows before it takes off again.

Absolutely love the game but meh....

There is maybe 600 - 800 gold in cash and bones on each Dragon. It does vary but there are few ways to make a $ quicker.

Bring on the cash ... dragons.

They certainly aren't spawned every time you fast travel. If that's happening in your game then it's [censored] up.

I still have fun fighting dragons.

Shame the Dragon loot didn't include a rare chance of special items dropping, stuff not available anywhere else in the game. Having said that, I do enjoy a good long battle with these blighters.

Aww i envy you then, most of the time dragon just ignore me and roam around in circles while i hopelessly try to hit it with my bow lol
but i have to agree dragons are also starting to become annoying in my game as they tend to show-up(well for me) in the time i don't want to bother with them xD

Heh I really like thosde dragons that just fly about without attacking because I think their roars sound great when they echo around and I enjoy watching them and listening to them. I leave them alone if they don't attack me.

Lately I have seen dragons and then tried to fight them, but I guess they don't want to fight me. I shoot arrows and shout at them but they just ignore me and keep flying around, afraid I guess.

Thanks for reminding me.....

On two seperate occasions dragons have shown up when ive been in dialogue with somebody. Ok the randomness of the game is what i wanted in the series but really. It happened during my quest when i had to slay a follower to boethiah..... hahaha i mean come on !

Dragons (while nice to look at and do have a cool presence) have become a nuisance in my game. The skies are flooded with the things. It's not uncommon for me to see more than one at a time. It's gotten to the point where I just can't be bothered and walk away from them. For example the other day one was attacking Rorikstead in the distance, I just walked in the opposite direction without a care. They're nothing more than super sized Cliff Racers to me now.

Adjusting time scale and using some uber dragon mods will really make them rare and feared. I am level 50 and I still go “ohhhh [censored]” every time I see a dragon.

I'm not kidding when I say that 7 out of 10 fast travels I have a dragon show up. And once you get passed lvl 35 they are pretty dull. I wish they and only they leveled with you.

I saw where someone posted earlier that if you see dragons everytime you fast travel then your game is effed up. That can't be right can it? I don't use any mods though I do have the difficulty cranked all the way up. Would that cause it?

What makes them annoying for me is that their random encounters sometimes kill NPCs that give you quests. Also, like everyone else, i really would just like to get on with what I'm doing rather than having been hindered by a dragon attacking me most of the times when i fast travel.

I thought they were much too easy to kill. I could just ignore their breath and wade in and beat em to death. Easy coin. I then added the dragon mod. oi. Now you get magma dragons that melt yo' a** and swamp dragons that do acid attacks, and ancients that are flippin' mean.
But, yeah, it can get to be a bit much when you are trying to run through a questline and keep getting bombed by dragons everytime you step outside a building. There is however an easy solution to that....

IGNORE THEM. I don't need more bones. I don't need more scales. I certainly don't need any more gold.

Just keep moving and they will go away, they stay in a general area, they won't follow you clear across the entire zone. If nothing else, simply duck into a building and it will usually make 'em go away too. At least initially....then just make tracks and keep on going.

One thing someone posted above, that I would like to highlight, is that their loot needs to improve. Why would an ancient be packing around an iron sword? Seriously. They have hundreds of gold....and the absolute crappiest weapon in the game....really?? A piece of crap iron chestplate?? You gotta be kiddin' me. This is the main reason why I started leaving 'em alone unless the quest called for killing one. The 'valuables' I no longer need, and the other crap is just that - crap. And a complete waste of time, imo.
