Using the Kyne's Peace/Animal Alligence Shouts and/or Command Animal Power would help with whole 'one with nature'. Try using only armour made from pelts and skins of animals or ones you've made/found yourself. Keep town and city visits to rare occurances and perhaps pick an area to protect. Decide whether your character thinks the Wilderness Hunters are just another predator or invaders of your grove.

Alteration magic is quite handy for a druid.
Maybe become a werewolf too.

Werewolf could be fun..but i guess i'll wait untill they add some skill tree or something...too weak on higher levels and not that useful overall.

Thats just part of playing Skyrim no way to get around that lol.

Seriously though I dont get what people mean by playing a druid it's and ancient religion we know very little about, your characters religion is going to be druid?

The forsworn are based on old Celtic warriors like picts how about basing your build on them?

I agree, the only reason i mentioned werewolf was because it could fit the druid being able to turn into a beast.

I dont see a Druid as a religion..it's person,a representative of a religion,cult or belief.
And Druids are not exclusivly celtic...Druids have been around in many cults and pagan religions.Sometimes they only acted as advisers or spiritual guides for their people. So yes his believes are going to be the ones of a Druid.

I do know a character similiar to a druid, which is a fun build too.
Its a shaman, light armor and one weapon (or two if not using destruction) with atronachs serving as guards. :D

Try and concentrate on alteration, alchemy, maybe illusion and most definetly SPEECH. The Druids were the only ways the ancient celts passed on storys, and were the bards of the iron age era.
Sorry, im a Welsh celt buff :D

It seems that there is some confusion between Druids (the actual, historical people) and druids (the D&D character class).

If you wanted to role-play a druid, I would assume you could use healing magic, only blunt weapons and try to steer clear of the "evil" quest lines, unless you are playing a dark druid or follower of an "evil" deity.

I also agree that Speech would be a logic choice, but it doesn't really lend itself directly to the character class the way AD&D proscribes it for druids.

You would have to roleplay the prayer aspect to re-gain/charge your spells, though.

Sounds like my monk build.

I use alteration, restoration (main skills) along with one handed, illusion and alchemy. Wear only robes and use a mace (wish I had a pc for a staff mod).

What's your role play? Ie quests Etcetras?

He may be going for a more generic Druid-style character type rather than trying to recreate D&D rules in a non-D&D game.

If I were to play a druid, here's what I would use:

Alchemy (use natural ingredients only, like plants and animal ingredients)
Alteration (fortify yourself with the essence of nature [oakflesh, stoneflesh])
Restoration (destory the unnatural undead with turning and bolster your life force; d&d druids have some healing magic, and druids hate undead)
Destruction (summon the forces of nature to destroy your enemies; eg. call lightning is a druid spell from d&d)
Light Armor (natural materials only)
Archery
Sneak
Shouts that befriend or pacify animals, control weather, etc

avoid quests that seem to violate nature. Do quests that favor nature (such as the Kynareth quest in whiterun with the tree or Meridia's quest where you destroy undead)

Tes has never had a good version of the "Druid" from d&d. Dragon age did a bit with the nature magic, but you will have to kind of crowbar your own not quite Druid into Skyrim.
