dull old blade can barely cut butter

Yeah I get that. Even when I don't have a bow on me.

Maybe we need a quest to conjure him a bed or brew him some ale.

better than my sword and boardler with about 35 in archery and 100 in sword + 100 in block.

guard: "favor the bow, eh? i am a swordsman myself"

its probably a bug when it comes to that i normally use a bow but i alternate between one hand and archery so i get both comments but since i use both it just makes sense to me.

If you are a master of a skill, i'd like to see more mini-quests that allow you to train a novice, similar to the mage who asks you to put up a ward for practice.

Just in case nobody understands, the guards will only say that if your enchanting skill is over 30

Which is way too low for those comments. My warrior has an enchanting skill over 30 by just recharging her weapons

All right, enough complaining about that! I'm on PC, i have the creation kit, so i'll make them have those comments at skill level 70!

Instead of enchanting their blade I would rather conjure them a warm bed.

:meh: i would rather give them an arrow in the knee.

And i hate the guards in skyrim, im not about to go enchant some stupid sword for them! :D

It would be a good idea. It sounds like a quest starter already.

not even for a good sum of gold? gold is always useful and the guards that get killed by some unknown force could give you your sword back and by give i mean forcefully taken off there corpse

It would be nice to be able to provide some enchanting and some smithing for the guards.

Maybe you could choose to do it as a job or do it for free? I would rather provide the guards with good gear for free actually.

just seeing the guards utilizing something you have made would actually be interesting. you would be payed by the jarl of the hold you are in who commissioned the armor being made for his guards.

Exactly. It would be even more interesting if we could make our own customized weapons/armors, but that is probably too much to ask for.

On a more realistic note, I would want to be able to craft the same type of armor that the guards have.

to fully customize they would have to change the blacksmiths UI completely like adding misc options as well as other stuff. so its a lot easier said then done the only way i could see this being a part of the game is if someone modded it in or if it was a small part to one of the large dlcs that are coming

I would like the option to help them out, yes. At least as long as I earned something on it :D

Yeah it is way too low. There's a mod for this already btw that sets the skill requirements for guards to comment at 75 instead of the pathetic 30 it is right now. It's only available on the Workshop sadly, but worth bothering with it: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=7626

I think there should be multiple variations in Daedric, Dragonplate/scale armor. Kinda like how there are multiple versions of steel armor, With/without pauldrons etc..

but lets face it, w/o the guards skyrim wont be skyrim. It would be...pile of trash.
Honestly those guards made the game a 9~10/10 rating

I'd rather enchant the butter with fire and force feed it to him. He won't SHUT up.

There should be a mod spell that you shoot at somebody and when it hits them a Bound Arrow appears in each of their knees and they fall to the ground.

hmm they seem to be the adoring fan of skyrim... or maybe that position belongs to lydia... anyway make them even more bad ass if they made the game by making them better armor or enchanting there gear for them. (a little coin on the side never hurts) but something so small would add so much to the game.

Just add in harmful effects and all is good. For the one looting the body.
