to be a Dwemer in skyrim?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 5:30 pm

They're all dead.

They're not dead. They're beyond death.

Personally, I wouldn't like to see dwemer as a playable race, but I wouldn't mind seeing one or two return from the Outer Realms. Fallion of Morthal says he's met a few and a dwemer character would be very interesting... as an NPC. Likewise with less antagonistinc Snow Elf 'survivors'.

You know what they liked more than that? Hitting Heart of Lorkhan with Sunder and Keening.

why everyone said they "extinct" when they just disappeared ?
how you can prove they all dead ? not in another place ?
Psijic Order disappeared once and we saw them again ..

There are piles of ash in beds, on chairs and on the floors in some of the dwemer ruins. Those look pretty dead to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfI69DC_jaw level of dead.

I wouldn't mind some kind of flash back cut scene with them as part of some quest.

The Elder Scrolls series has enough playable races. As interesting as the Dwemer are, I'm content if they stay as is.

If the dwarves return, I'd like to see them as short, bearded and mining ore in caves. If that's cliche, then so are the Altmer and Bosmer.

daedra would luv to bring back the dwemer for one purpose alone so there will never be a dragonborne
the dwemer would kill the dragonborne with there mighty beards of doom

With the difference that the Daedra don't give a **** about the Dragonborn - actually, on the contrary, they seem to be quite fond of the Dragonborn, judging by how easily they supply him/her with legendary artifacts. They do hate Aedra and some of the other Daedra, but mortals - why would they even care about them? They would be a pain to kill off and, besides, if mortals are gone then some of the princes, like Sanguine -especially Sanguine- would be bored to death... with the exception of one particular prince, daedric princes would not ever go to destroy anything in Nirn - they just make agreements or pranks to kill some time, they are not chaotic evil or anything, and some of them like Sheogorath are actually very pleasant folks to hang out with...

What if everyone on earth disappeared and you would be the last one alive, but you wouldn't know that for sure. Would you look for other people?

They can always get new bodies the way Daedra do - after all, if they do come back, it means they have succeeded in acsending into godhood, so they can use all the tricks Daedra can...

I really hope they don't come back.
I kinda like the idea of a race that just disappeared over night.

Check the Arniel Gane's quest in skyrim. He does the same thing Dwemer did. You can summon his ghost afterwards at will. Looks pretty dead to me.

I'm sure they could think of something to bring them back to one small underground settlement that no one knows exists. Some magical barrier *waves hand in form of rainbow* that protected this particular settlement from whatever caused the disappearance. Or maybe some escaped through some type of one-way time travel mechanism that was destroyed blah blah.. Its fantasy. The beauty of it is no one knows what happened so if a few of them found a way to survive, no one can say anything about it.

You summon his Shade, but that might simply be an echo of his mortality rather than his true essence. We also don't know if Gane actually suceeded in replecating the original event. I've heard that the dwemer who were present on Nirn when Kagrenac struck the Heart are the Golden Skin now. I thought that was Word of God (=confirmed by the developers)?

The dwarves are gone, not dead. Gone. The dead don't always stay gone from Mundus, even if they've pledged themselves to the Void (Why hello there, Lucien).

At least one escaped the fate of the others. If you believe Fallion, then there are a few others in the Outer Realms who might return to Nirn someday.

Arniel tried to recreate the conditions on a smaller scale - but, ofc, he couldn't recreate the real deal. Who says that things were not different with the Dwarves?

And, besides, have you seen all those Dragons before Alduin came to ressurect them? Seemed very dead to me, yet we all know how it all ended up... What's to say that some god doesn't wake up one day and decides to bring the Dwemer back for the heck of it?

the point is we can't say for sure they are dead .
their disappearance still mystery .
Psijic Order disappeared once and reappeared after 500 years , so there's a chance we could see them again and TBH i'd love to see them again .

It would be interesting if dwemer were to suddenly appear while the thalmor are taking over the whole continent.
At least that's the only reason i could imagine right now that would make them appear in a sensical manner.

But as far as a race goes, i like the whole mystical dissaperance thing, it's very fascinating and interesting.
As a fan i would not be bothered if they come back, as long as there is a working story behind it, that actually works for a change.

every dwemer but one became the skin of their created god (which failed to become a god, now it is just a staue with dwemer skin), iirc Divayth Fyr and the last dwemer searched mundas, oblivion, and the outer realms and failed to find any other dwemer

No, I haven't, that's a spoiler.

There seems to be plenty of ways to bring back the ancient Dwemer, maybe they dug deeper then anyone had realized , they may still live of what was left of them. They dug to deeply this time to awaken their ancestors , "the old ones".

The Daedra Princes are always interested to acquire powerful mortals.

"So the Daedra Lords created the Daedric Realms, and all the ranks of Lesser Daedra, great and small. And, for the most part, the Daedra Lords were well pleased with this arrangement, for they always had worshippers and servants and playthings close to hand. But, at the same time, they sometimes looked with envy upon the Mortal Realms, for though mortals were foul and feeble and contemptible, their passions and ambitions were also far more surprising and entertaining than the antics of the Lesser Daedra. Thus do the Daedra Lords court and seduce certain amusing specimens of the Mortal Races, especially the passionate and powerful. It gives the Daedra Lords special pleasure to steal away from Shezarr and the Aedra the greatest and most ambitious mortals. 'Not only are you fools to mutilate yourselves,' gloat the Daedra Lords, 'But you cannot even keep the best pieces, which prefer the glory and power of the Daedra Lords to the feeble vulgarity of the mush-minded Aedra.'

No Aedra/Daedra would bring back the dwemer, since its a well known aspect that the Dwemer repeatedly scoffed at them at a number of occasions. The Dwemer knew Daedra and Aedra existed, they just didn't give a damn and new how to be much much stronger than they.

-everyone- who came across the Dwemer hated the Dwemer

Let them Stay gone, because if they come back we're all ******ed

atleast the redguard could appreciate their prowess, and I've read somewhere that Yokuda could have been an Ancestral home, take that with a grain of salt.
