to be a Dwemer in skyrim?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 10:21 pm

Would a dwemer race be likely in a DlC of skyrim or in the next Elder scrolls game? Would fans of the Elder Scrolls want to play the dwemer race, would you?

The Dwemer are my favorite, and if they brought them back in this time period I'd be absolutely enraged and insulted. Everyone knows they are extinct!

Would it be likely? Yes, if Bethesda thinks that a bit of Tolkeinesque crap in their games would be popular. Would fans want to play it? Players, yes, but fans would probably incredibly annoyed - so annoyed, in fact, that they'd even give up on the game before level 80.

but what if they were brought back by the ancient gods that once forged them, I'd like to play a dweller but I also like the fact they are a lost mysterious race. what to do, what to do?

They could be brought back in one of the next TES games, but not as a playable race, and certainly not in Skyrim - Skyrim has already had it's share of long-gone races coming back, ie dragons.

And Dwemer are NOT extinct - they are simply gone. They could come back at any random time if the devs feel like it...

While I don't want to see a Dwemer DLC, and personally like the idea of them remaining "extinct," Sykrim should teach us that just because something disappears millenia ago, doesn't mean it can't return.
Take, for example, Alduin

(minor mid main questline spoiler)
Spoiler

We learn that through the use of the Elder Scrolls he was banished forward in time, appearing in the Fourth Era instead of being completely lost in the timestream.

Is it not at least possible that something similar could've happened with the Dwemer? That they tried to harness the powers of an Elder Scroll and something went totally wrong, sending the whole race hurtline through the timestream?
It certainly seems plausible to me.

I don't think we should treat it like it's completely an impossibility, especially considering that it's a complete mystery how they disappeared in the first place, and how sudden it was.

Those gods also destroyed them because of their arrogance. I doubt they're bringing them back any time soon.

The Dwemer, for the record, are still on Nirn: they are the brass skin of Numidium.

There is exactly one surviving dwemer. And he only survived by having a luck stat of 100.

That'd be cool but the thing is, the Dwemer cannot be found in any known realms, that is why they are "gone" so the chances of Daedra finding them are, as I think as high as anyone else's.

He can still be killed through violence. The eruption of Red Mountain would have done it.

The Dwemer are gone. Where did they go, and how did they get there? That's the mystery. One could speculate for hours on end, but it's questionable that even Bethesda knows where they are. It's a possibility that sometime in the future we may see their return, in some form or another. But it seems like a stretch to me.

I wouldn't want to play as a Dwemer, either. I can't see it being anything special.

Also... I think it's safe to say that Yagrum Bagarn, the last living Dwemer, was killed with the eruption of Red Mountain. I find it hard to believe he would've escaped. Though, if he did, it would be interesting to meet him again. I was rather fond of the fellow.
