by the nine! i thought dragons can't get in cities!?

i just arrived in solitude now and bam... an elder dragon is in the city killing everyone! hahaha

i swear to god that i heard that dragon battles can't take place inside city walls

can anyone clarify this?
I've had to fight dragons in Riften, Dawnstar, Falkreath and Winterhold, so there's really nothing stopping them from getting into the other cities and towns.

Is it intentional that Every time I travel to Winterhold and Dawnstar, as well as if I fast travel to Riften Stables, there is ALWAYS a dragon there circling? It never fails, every single time I go to either place there's a dragon there, and I'm really getting tired of killing them....

I hate Dragons killing NPCs. That is the reason that pushes me to always use the console command:

"set MQ106turnoffrandomdragons to 1"

I hate this too, an ancient or elder dragon can easily decimate and level a towns entire populace without you there or right there taking the brunt of everything the dragon has, makes you wander how everybody survived without a dragonborn around.

Probably because there weren't any dragons before the dragonborn arrived.

I was being sarcastic and there are and was dragons many years in the past, the dragons have returned that means they was once here and there is a tiger dragon in Akavir.

I don't think the OP meant for Dawnstar, Falkreath and Winterhold to be included, they're not seperate from the world cell.

Do you fast travel? IIRC, fast travelling has some affect on dragons.

They have a habit of getting into cities and killing the blacksmiths, for me. Not sure why... perhaps blacksmiths just have those "killable" faces.

I know it can happen. There are marked landing locations, inside town cells, in the CK for them. After 1300 hrs (aporx 300 of those had Dragons triggered, so we'll go with that number) I have yet to encounter one inside the walls of a celled city.

However, every time a character has triggered Dragons, they have always spawned in Riverwood, Morthal and Winterhold. Sometimes two and three (3 w/mods) at a time.

Well it can definitely happen because dragons are animated to be able to do it; it's only ever happened to me when fast travelling directly to a city though, never when entering it from the outside. I think I've had it happen everywhere now except Dawnstar and Riften.

when im in solitude i can see a dragon way off in the distance calling out and circling around

i thought it was just part of scenery but wow, this was a suprise for sure!
Yep! Yep! I just saw this myself yesterday and was also shocked by it! I didn't even know they could fly that high but I couldn' take my eyes off it (until it flew into the clouds). No roars. No swoops. It was just peacefully flying about its own business.

I so wish I could ride it.
