Enclave return DLC suggestion.

I would say the "California Enclave' is just part of the whole shadow society......like parts who is sponsored other than Poseidon Energy, or simply disprove the Richardson line, or even become Confederates.

Well I would say that that's unfounded and non-sensical.

Enclave are dead as a Faction.

I don't know. Perhaps not as dead as you think. FO3 showed us that they had regrouped to a certain extent after F2, and why wouldn't they? Ideologies tend to not die, so much as fade, and ebb, no matter how much of a defeat they've had. Look at the Nazis. Convincingly thrashed at the end of WW2, yet there are still people out there who believe in those ideals. Get enough of them together, and all of a sudden they start to become a power....

Finding "pureblood" humans might be a challenge, but as with all ideologies, it would morph and evolve as time goes by. Genetic screening results within certain parameters would be enough, after a while.

If it's written well, I would not be averse to seeing them as a faction within future FO's, though my preference would be on new protagonists.

Yeah, the thing is I could see them potentially surviving like the Great Khans and just throwing all of there ideology out-of-the-window; I won't pretend that my opposition to this idea is my own bias and love for the genocidal Enclave of President Richardson though. [censored] I'll have more respect for the Brotherhood because of it

Also: Where do people get the term 'pureblood' from, this isn't Harry Potter; I guess it's supposed to be a scathing term even though the Enclave's definition of human and near-human is technically correct if not a little exsesive.

Ain't that they point?

In order to remain true to 'pure strain' fanaticism/racism while rebuild the power they have lost, resort to slavery seems logical to me.

That would be kick ass! as far as a reason what if they made the story of the DLC be the rest of the Brotherhood of Steel hears about Helios and comes out to take control while at the same time so does the Enclave. Massive battle ensues, courier helps which ever faction and in return full control of the weapon is given to the courier which allows for more than one strike at a time.

True, but if you've only got 50 people or so your going to die out in two generations.

Clone? Capsules? Open some Vaults? Frank experiment?

Any effort Enclave put out would naturally become a plot........things just couldn't be easier.

I'll stick to recruiting Vault Dwellers' or just the collapse of the organisation thank you very much.

At least op wants the Enclave from Fallout 2 to come back instead of 3 like most of the people who makes these threads do. Still a big no though.

So a popular villain that works well in the series should never come back? They should just fade away completely never to be seen again? What about all the other villains in other franchises like the Joker, Magneto, Carnage, Lex Luthor, Loki, Dr Doom, and the like. Should they all be killed off? What will we get in their place?

Yeah comic books, the villians coming back always makes perfect sense in those books . I know that this is science and everything but the world still operates normally, not with Black Lantern Rings, Magic and Time Travel or whatever.

Well then you should start thinking up a suitable replacement for them. Im sure the devs are open to suggestions.

Or they could just come up with something new themselves like has happened for every previous title aside from Fallout 3 and arguably New Vegas.

I have no lack of confidence in them to create another first rate villain (discarding Ceaser's Legion). However, I feel that the Enclave concept has not reached it's full potential. Im not saying they should be in a every game (far from it) but they should not be eliminated from future projects entirely. The plotting potential is just to fertile to throw them into the ash can which I really doubt they will anyways.

Well technically FO3 did have magic in it if you downloaded Point Lookout. Grab the evil book, take it back to the Capitol Wasteland and touch it to the evil statue and poof it disappears. One of many design decisions I think should have earned somebody a swift kick to the groin.

Well I'm not saying that they are completly gone either, we do have that allueded base in Chicago; as a Richardson era Enclave supporter I just don't want to see them again because of my own personal preferences:

1. They'll have to change to be able to still function I assume, which means I'll have more respect for the damn Brotherhood of Steel.
or
2. They'll come up with some reason (or none at all) to have them back in many numbers which would keep them the same but at the cost of something quite contradictory.

Really I just want them to die for my own personal reasons though, I'll conceed that much.

Im sure if Obsidian is handling them you should have little to worry about.

I dont get it, what is everyone's problem with the Legion as a villain? Is it just because they got gimped gameplay wise? Because IMO their lore is far more interesting than the Enclave 'government conspiracy' [censored].

Well they did feel the need to only make one of the five Enclave members someone who actually believed in the Enclave so I'm not so sure, an overzealous way to make the Enclave seem more humane even though (IMO) Moreno was the best written one anyway. Ah well, I always just put it down to them wanting to protect Arcade's delicate little brain from the fact that the father he so wonders about was just another evil Enclave trooper too :P; and I guess they almost all jump at the chance to kill some NCR aside from [censored]-boy Johnson.

EDIT: In-fact Whitman, for example, taking part in the battle just so that she can fly again makes here even worse surely? - If they are indeed being honest about their indifference to the cause they were actually fighting for.

Well, since there stupid camps/vertabird mini encounters in fallout 3 keep respawning, they must come from some where els in the waste. :verymad: .

In all, I want the Enclave back as a main faction, only I want them to be alterable by me.I can split the faction, and make them good or evil.To be honest, I just wouldnt mind joining them.Im hopeful with FO4, though bethesda probly wont(and if they do, they will probly force me to kill them like they did with fallout 3).But as a NV dlc, well, we know all 4 dlcs in NV all ready, so it probly wont happen in new vegas.
