Even master difficulty is too easy?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:53 pm

Sorry, its way easy with no enchanting, but since you aren't able to figure it out then I am sure it is impossible.

Oooooo. What's your masterful secret? Do you sneak kill every single kill? Or maybe take every single heavy armor perk and smithing perk? *Gasp* Your a master of the game !

Congrats, showboat.

I was a bit worried taking on master difficulty after what i had read, but I cant honestly tell the difference between master & expert.

People were saying i would need an NPC with me early on etc.

I was thinking i would need a sneak, archer to get through but i've just ended up dual wielding my way through, in light armour?

I dont enchant or buy potions. I havent used any NPC's.

I have 150 stamina which means i can do 3 back to back dual wield power attacks which finishes off most things upto a snow bear.

I havent had to approach any battle with a tactical approach.

I am now level 25 and have read it gets easier from now on?

Bit disappointed really?

It's a RPG, NOT Ninja Gaiden... go play that on the hardest level? NG3 is out soon and i'll be there

No matter what you do or limit yourself to the game is easy all you have to do is move and keep moving and time your attacks. The fact people have to completely ignore 2 trrees to get a somewhat difficult experience(smithing, enchanting)is pretty bad.

There's always one or two people on every forum that want to make others feel totally inadequate. Like I'll bet there are people who said the final boss fight on Gears 3 on Insane in Arcade mode is too easy as well because they got lucky the first time and got the glitch without the "palace guard" respawns. I know that there were complaints that Mass Effect 2 was too easy on Insane, yet I couldn't get past this one particular level and after trying for two hrs I gave up on it. Some things just aren't worth it. You know not all of us have lighting fast reflexes. Not all of us play sober. Some of us have cats that jump up on us during battles. And then there are some of us for whom there simply is no hope at all.

I feel like hagravens would be a pain if they had increased damage... they already demolish my warrior-type playing with their limitless fireballs.

Also, there's a type of leveled vampire that spawns at what... 50+? I'm guessing those guys don't mess around on master.

Gee Mass Effect 2 was really easy on insane i heard a few people say it was alot harder when you imported Shepard and played through in insane rather than starting off a fresh Shepard.I never tried it myself with a import and the solider class was a give in ever try that class on insane was pretty easy.Just spam Heightened adrenaline rush on everything that's how i did it worked a treat.

I don't feel inadequate. They're lying. It's not superhard, and it's not Ninja Gaiden or Battletoads or whatever.. but it's not easy either. And to say it is either trolling or lying. Why, I don't know.

Hell, I'm playing on normal/adept, and it's relatively easy, most of the time, but still fun. I normally have to heal somewhat after every encounter. The leveled boss fights in this game are pretty difficult, still. I constantly run out of healing potions. Each fight, however, has a situation you can exploit, making you strategize, depending on your skills.

But maybe that's just me. I'm roleplaying my character...not using the highest level equipment (hide armor, steele boots and gauntlets), no enchantments on weapons (uses bound swords and bow, only).

Of course, I think I leveled WAY too fast. I'm at level 39 and just really beginning the main quest. I hope the game can still provide a challenge later on.

I used Ninja Gaiden to make a point NOT to make you feel inadequate, because you used it in a sentence  you are Yoda?

No, I'm not Yoda.

I just don't see how many encounters are all that easy. Raiding a bandit camp, sure.. that's easy. Off the top of my head, try raiding Hag's End though, for example. It's hard enough to be fun. Especially on Master. You get a little of everything there.. briarhearts, hagravens, archers, witches.. and if you're not getting a challenge, then I don't know what to say other than you're full of [censored].

Anyone who claims that master difficulty is easy without relying heavily on enchanting is a liar.

Please don't call people liars, explain to me why anyone would even need to touch enchanting to make master a cakewalk?.

I feel like master is easy in all my characters and I don't enchant, easy on my dagger build, easy on my bound bow Mage, easy on my Dremora Lord mage, sure I die the odd time but that's because I don't bother to smith my armour.

You get some idiots in here say well you shouldn't be using the overpowered elements well I don't craft anymore but if I stopped using all of the many overpowered elements just how much of the game would be left to play?, stop using all the fun bits of the game because they happen to be the strongest and just run around with a steel sword, I want to progress through the game getting better equipment and weapons and perks, but it seems that when you do this in Skyrim the enemies can't even cope with you at all..

Look I'm an average player but I have spent hundreds of hours on the game so any player will learn how to outwit the enemies, people say its boasting but how can anyone say the AI is any challenge at all?.

Go a Two handed light armoured battleaxe user and see how that works out for you.
After your 100th consecutive splatting by a bandit with a warhammer performing a finishing move on you, you may well require a new TV as your current one won't work too well with a controller rammed in it.

No ranged, no stealth. Fight like a man and feel the pain that everyone here calling you a liar has felt.

No it is not lying, IT IS EASY on master. This is the only game that I have ever played above the default difficulty setting, that shows how average I gamer I am, in the course of 20 years of playing videogames I have completed maybe ten out of hundreds, that shows how useless I am at games in general.

Why do you guys take this as a personal attack?, we aren't saying this to make anyone feel inadequate, just pointing out the ridiculous balancing problem this game as where you can't use any good perks or any good weapons abilities etc without making the game easy as hell.

That is not a personal attack against people playing on novice or whatever it's got nothing to do with you guys so stop feeling all insulted. Just grow up ffs and stop calling people liars and trolls because I'm getting sick of hearing nonsense like that.

I die all the time, get one shotted by all sorts of things with my no armor approach. But that's not difficulty as I can always go back and kill the guy straight away. I call difficulty a situation where I need ten attempts and half an hour to kill a boss, then I actually feel a sense of achievement when I defeat them, if I'm on master then I should be getting such a challenge, regardless of what armour weapons I'm using.

I've had a grand total of one such fight playing Skyrim on master, it's a joke really.

Yes it does annoy me a lot people calling me a liar, Because I don't understand why they would do so.

I've not used a battleaxe, why would that build be particularly difficult?. With perks and enough health it'll soon become easy regardless of armor, throw in some shop bought fortify two handed gear and bobs your uncle.

So far your mentioned builds are either stealth or ranged, easy peasy builds that avoid confrontation.
Go try and batter a dragons lights out up close, especially early on with a low level.

It's too hard at some points, and too easy at other points. Bears usually kill me before I kill them, unless I manage to stagger them with power-attacks.

I have a Warhammer Orc build which is the closest I've got, he got through Dragon battles with his berserker power back in the early days, when he could get the svckers to eventually land.

Come to think of it I do remember one Dragon battle that was close to impossible for me as I don't use potions and I had no cover, think I had to lure him to a fort halfway across the map as I was dead from his fire breath before I could run upto him with a Warhammer.

So your right in that some sub-optimal (I mean sub op in terms of playstyle/class not limiting perks etc that's just stupid) builds go some way to addressing the issue, but not for long, by level 20 those battles weren't so tricky and now at level 52 it's a cakewalk again. Surely if the level scaling goes upto level 50 (even though it should be lv81) then the challenge should be maintained throughout, naturally you chose good gear for your dude so the balancing really needs to be better.

Having played on Master a lot, this statement in particular is not believable.

Yes, many situations can be easy. but against a boss or high level enemy if you simply rush in, you will be one shot killed. That is my experience. You need to use a tactical approach. With Master some enemies will kill you in one hit if you just rush in and blindly attack. Even with a lot of armor and very high health. I've found that to be a fact.

So the above statement is just not believable to me.
I fully agree and I'm on PS3 playing on Adept and I die quite often especially if there is an Volkihar vampire who drains health, magi and stm. The difficulty is stern and I even tuned down to apprentice because of so many deaths I encountered at lvl 66 main and still having challenges with great gear. The above statement is not my experience and may bold well for others but this is not an easy game on the Master level...I dare go that far!
