The Dwemer are totally in Skyrim!

Just like the Triforce is in Ocarina of Time!

Sounds like someone never had a gameshark.

They were very real and there is a book that at least gives you the closest hint to what happened to the dwarves.
Nope, that book was fake too.
OT: I doubt it.

Personally do I think this is real? probably not.

If I were a game designer though would I put in an easter egg like that? You bet your sweet ass I would.

It's proven false by anyone who knows anything about the lore. The dwemer are gone from the mortal plane. It's not a physical matter.

While noting that I do believe this quest is a hoax, this is not a valid argument against it. We know at least one dwarf survived by being in another plane at the time, so why couldn't there be more? Why couldn't there have been a group of dwemer exploring some obscure plane of oblivion someplace who've managed to repopulate a city deep beneath the surface? Maybe they never left whatever plane they were in at all: maybe it's their "safe" plane that you have to find?

Please post this to your Facebook Wall. I know that 95,495558482 per cent will not post it on their Wall but who does will have a magic portal appear in Windhelm.

I was hoping they'd announced extra quests being added to all the faction chains. I was disappointed.

I have it.
It is worhtless with 20ish damage and it can't be upgraded, not by smithing mean anyway.

I use to find the truth to extra quest chain rumours, until I took an arrow in the knee.

Minor Spoilers Ahead...

IF this were true, it most likely would not be weapons to be upgraded via blacksmith, but rather weapons to be upgraded to a more advanced version via quest.

IF this were true, it is highly likely to have something to do with Signus Septimus and his Dwemer Lockbox in the far north, also very likely involving the Heart of Lorkhan.

IF this were true, it very likely requires the quest that involves a man attempting to contact the dwemer at the college of winterhold.

IF this were true, it is very likely that it has something to do with Blackreach and the Elder Scroll reading room. There are four buttons there, with no apparent guide as for how to use them. You can release the Elder Scroll, but what else could you do? This is the part that is highly likely to have the sound componant.

Alternatively, there is Septimus's talk of noise unlocked areas in the depths of blackreach. This also is highly likely to be indicative of this quest.

All these are big IF's, but if i were the designer of Skyrim, this sort of IF is totally the sort of thing i would include, because it's awesome.

These things are always crap. While the idea of a hidden quest in a massive game like this is kind of cool and I wouldn't mind them doing it in the future, they probably won't. And the circumstances behind this one are ridiculous.

To be honest, I don't think Bethesda had the foresight to include such awesomeness. Everything they have done seems to be more of a 'guide you by the hand' sort of system...
