Fallout: New Vegas Reviews Thread

I dunno if I should just wait now and get another game instead, perhaps Fable 3 next week. I'm really not sure at all... with all these bugs and glitches that are in the game.

woot

I'm not sure the overall message communicated by that statement is all that positive, though. He's basically saying, "the PC version has all of the advantages you'd expect a decent PC version of a game to have, but also most of the same bugs the console versions have." So, "yay" and also "eek," I guess. Hopefully they've been working on a patch for the past few weeks and it will follow fairly soon.

Right...Obsidian...you guys have a patch coming soon, right? Obs...Obsidian...?

Fable 3 will be 100% supremely polished? Every game these days has bugs and glitches. I haven't played a game that was flawless since...I can't remember. Pick it up. Obsidian deserves your dough more than Peter Molyneux and his gameplay exaggerations.

Eurogamer's review has been posted. :celebration:

"There are even complete game freezes, usually after prolonged play sessions, though Bethesda assures us that this is a known issue and a day-one patch will fix it."

The reviews are very good in my opinion. I really don't care that much about the graphics and since I only had one or two crashes during my first run through the entire vanilla version of fallout 3(about 120 hours), I think I won't have problems in that area. Now, I just have to wait till the game arrives in Croatia.

As predicted, most reviews state that it's just more of Fallout 3, just better written and more polished gameplay. As expected. ^_^

Got two German reviews.

PC Games (Germany) - http://www.pcgames.de/Fallout-New-Vegas-PC-231321/Tests/Fallout-New-Vegas-Test-Nicht-genial-aber-immer-noch-ein-gutes-Rollenspiel-794761/

I love how bugs in Fallout: New Vegas=80+ whereas bugs in Alpha Protocol=80- And people think that I'm crazy when I say hype=review scores. Hell, NV apparently causes FREQUENT crashes on 360 (the lead console), which is worse than any bug I had playing Alpha Protocol (texture pop-in, oh no!).

That said, I didn't read any reviews yet (scanned them briefly on NMA, but yeah). Another interesting thing is it's less than average Bethesda game review score (80+ opposed to 90+), although this may just be because of the reused graphics and massive crashing issues on the 360 version (did they fix this yet?).

Got to admit, you're pretty good at real criticism. ^_^

I remember that my favourite gaming magazine gave fallout 2 a score of 79/100 back in the day, and fallout 2 was one of the most enjoyable games of my life. A Metascore of ~85 sounds very good. Hopefully they'll fix the technical issues in a patch, which should make the game a solid 90.

This is a small question and semi-related to reviews but what weapon is the escapist using in those caves in his review? Any of you Americans know, you just PM me. Because I need it. Now.
