I hardly use it. I know Jury Rigging is useful and cost effective for rarer armor types. But since I usually roam the wastes with nothing but merc outfits, armor repair at vendors or finding replacements is hardly a problem for me. Plus I make all my weapon repair kits for my weapons.

@Dan
Why use chips to buy weapon repair kits when you could use all those chips to buy junk food to make Sierra Madre Martini's. Sweet, sweet delicious martinis. That I can quit drinking at anytime I want.

I get that perk every time and it helps to keep everything in shape. I don't have the DLC but I do make Weapon Repair Kits early on. It's a lot of work to collect all those wrenches and duct tape though. Great perk! :)

Weapon repair kits and, even moreso, Raul's companion perk > Jury Rigging. I'd rather spend the skill points elsewhere myself.

but if you actually use the dispenser for weapon repair kits you're a douchenozzle

I use it for them, but I've stopped picking chips from the lockbox.
I only use chips I've earned from cigarettes.
It's a bit more balanced now.
Still, we shouldn't have to nerf ourselves.

You still can't repair armour, like the Reinforce Sierra Mandare Security and Assassin's suit.

Not to mention with higher Repair your repair kit works better as well.

Oh, well now that's hard.
Now what could you do with a million weapon repair kits?
Oh I know!
Kill tough enemies, loot all their weapons, repair them all with the free kits.
Go sell them at various merchants then go to repair NCR and have armor repaired = Problem solved.

Takes longer, sure, but still, one free perk slot to be filled since Jury Rigging sky plummeted in value. /imo

Meh NPC's are often expensive in repairing items

I'd rather just repair it myself for free. Not only that not all NPC's are able to repair to 100%.

I don't have Jury Rigging. I have 97,000 Caps and another 80,000 caps worth of pre-war money. I can raise yet another 50,000 caps easy selling stockpiled loot I don't need. Still have lots of game content to go through on the current character. Oh, and I still have the Ultra Luxe casino to get tossed out of....

Why do I need the Jury Rigging perk? Why should I take?

I'm at level 33 about to tick over to level 34 on top of black mountain with my followers lugging around a few LMGs and Miniguns collected as loot. So Jury Rigging fans have until the new video card is in my box to sell the perk.

Course not, but for those that do Jury Rigging becomes rather useless.
If you don't have DM then Jury Rigging is a beast.

Sorry but Pack Rat wins the award for best perk ever. I play with Guns characters and always playd hardcoe mode. So, any ammunition or food you carry = half weight and that is beyond incredible.

That's what "Armor Repair Kits" are for......take 1 Jackal, Scorpion, Fiend or Freeside Thug, shoot with your favorite weapon, rinse and repeat as necessary. You don't even need Veronica to craft them.

Well, I don't use that armor so it's not for me.
If you decide to specifically use the items that are rare to repair with then yeah Jury Rigging can be an okay perk.
But since I don't really use those items I have a fairly easy time to repair my equipment.

I am a fan...

What now?

I do love this perk though. Even with the Sierra Madre vending machines, and confirmed bachelor at Mojave Outpost, I still take it. Saves time. And time = money. Dead Money. The Sierra Madre was frozen in time. Frozen. Dead. The money there had died. The Gala brought the casino back to life, but not the money... because it took time... time is irrelevant because of the cloud, which preserved everything, even the dead... Money.

 I played through Dead Money again yesterday, and now it has invaded my mind. We need more DLC.

It's worth taking simply for the shortcuts it provides in fetching quests.

Jury Rigging is only useful to repair the Ranger Helmet because it cant be repaired by an NPC.

Im sure I managed to get the Ranger helmet repaired at the Mojave outpost before. Still Jury Rigging certainly does come in handy at times.
