Farkas you absolute [censored]

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:06 am

when you come upon a room with few deathlords, backtrack a bit with farkas, turn him into an ice cube with ice form and then run to the room with the deathlords and use sneak to take them all out. by that time farkas should be thawing out.

That's pretty slick.

You guys only talk about the companions rofl. What about the Tg run with mercer? First time I did that one I was thinking ,"Ok this mercer dude is a master theif , beter show him what I got." The guy literally runs around yelling and setting off traps like a crazy man. It's ridiculous.

I'm strongly tempted to skip the Companions line on my stealthy characters, it's just too irritating running mission after mission with a bunch of tactically declined idiots. Not coincidentally, this is also the main reason I seldom bother with the Civil War quests, since then it's 8-14 idiots instead of 1.

Tell me about it! I was fighting for the Stormcloaks and we are abou to hijack an Imperial shipment in the Reach, and Rolof just got done telling me how this is his first command and he needs a successful raid. So I say "Fine wait here, and I'll handle it." So I go way up on the hillside and have just finished sniping my second Imperial when here comes Rolof and his squad charging into battle! The end result was Rolof lost every man under his command, but hey we got the shipment so what if a couple Nords died, plenty more where they come from. Stupid. Idiots.

What? That wasn't my experience at all, he was brilliant for my sneak character, he wasn't detect when sitting right next to the deathlords (I was invisible).

He couldn't harm them for [censored], I had to do that. But he could at least sneak ha. Farkas can't sneak or fight.

Draugrs use Disarm Shout. It is not a unique version of Unrelenting Force.

Yeah actually I have a problem with this quest... I mean come on! Turn back into a Warewolf you gimp! And right at the end when hoards of them are chasing me around the buriel chamber where is he? Has he turned into a Warewolf? No! He's down on one knee again! Farkas you Farking Farker!

you got chased around the chamber? Farkas and myself seemed to have it just fine... my problem is that followers/npc companions don't sneak, can't avoid traps, get distracted and aren't where you need them and are never at your level... so I tend to leave them home unless I don't get to choose.

I've found that followers and npc companions are good for holding one or two of the mobs for me while I clear the room and then I can take what they have on them. If they go to one knee I guess you can be glad he isn't dead, right? Rescue him and roll your eyes when he asks if he can come with you later.

This! Although the cutscene of me and my follower being tossed is a bit annoying, that one-shot thing is out of order. One of them did that, reloaded and tried again. When I looted him to at least recover my ebony arrows, I found he had equipped them! Well, they are a lot better than those ancient Nordic arrows. It's funny how I can find arrows in my inventory or that of my follower that don't belong there, just from being shot.

That shout isn't an instant kill... you just get right back up. I've suffered through it many times. But yeah, Disarm is a different shout.

You know what's funny about Farkas? That according to the google spreadsheet he will reach 64 in sneak, 100 in one-handed, 100 in pickpocket while having 25 in two-handed and 20 in block. Hmm time to turn Farkas into a dual wielding thief.
I'll go check his stats in my game with the getavinfo.

Ok, back.

So Farkas at level 31 (I made him level-up properly, yes) has the following skills (lol, no sneak-thief in the companions hmmm?):

Sneak 37
Two Handed 25
Block 20
One Handed 64 (!)
Heavy Armor 15 (!!!)
Light Armor 20 (what are you supposed to dress this guy in?)
Pickpocket 59

Really? Wow seems like maybe they have some random action script or something. And it wasn't just Mercer for me , but the other two nightingales when we went to confront Mercer were just insanely screaming and rushing everything.... Strange.

The chamber part was easy to be honest, only like 3 draugr at a time. It's the part where I was attacked by at least 7 silver hand, farkas was dying. Was just me and my flame atronach vs 6-7 of the bastards. They do a [censored] load of damage on master.

He's talking about draugr deathlords using bows and ebony arrows.

Correct. They get some of the shouts that you do
