The Smashing Pumpkins, or Bad Religion, or The Offspring, there's lots of great ones. The 90s was a great decade to be a fan of punk, but then came the 2000s... *shudders*

All the bands I listen to regularly are from the 90s. If I had to choose... Reel Big Fish.

A lot of Nirvana love here. I think they're really good, but way too depressing to listen to outside of small bursts.

What do we mean by "'90s band?" Bands whose first album was released in the '90s, bands that released an album in the '90s, or just bands that got radio play in the '90s?

I know they started in the 80's but Guns n' Roses 90's material i.e the Use Your Illussions albums were almost perfect.

Savatage as well started in the 80's but had some great material released in the 90's, great and sadly under rated band

I'm assuming he means bands that were biggest in the 90s and formed around that time.

Muse, Placebo, Radiohead (They released their first album in the 90s, so I think they count), System of a Down and Porcupine Tree.

EDIT: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Most of the bands I really liked in the '90s got started in the '80s.

Some favorites:

- Tool
- Alice in Chains
- Soundgarden
- Faith No More
- Kyuss
- Queens of the Stone Age (sort of '90s)

I'm sure I'm missing some that should be on my short list...I'd have to give it some thought. I listened to a lot of different bands back then.

I was into Nirvana for a little while shortly after Nevermind was released, but over time I really started to find their music repetitive and boring. TBH I'm still not sure why they're so legendary.

Blink 182. With The Offspring being a very distant second.

There were a lot of great alternative and grunge groups during the 90's, but I'm more a fan of the big beat movement. So for me The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Orbital, Massive Attack, just a couple of my favorites from that era. There was some great music in the 90's.

I'd have to say Aphex Twin. A lot of good things were happening on the trance scene during the 90s too (Tiesto, for example), and the evolution of techno really produced some other artists that I really like in the 1990s.

On the instrumental side of things, Radiohead, perhaps or some post-rockier groups.
