"To Feast on the souls of the living...and the dead?&#34

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:12 am

It is obvious that in the Dawnguard trailer we got to see a completely new realm where obviously, we see spirits roaming. The blue portal tells us it may be a Daedric Realm like when we entered the Twilight Sepulcher and Sanguine's pocket realm. Do you think it is Molag Bal's realm where he keeps the souls of vampires? Since Hircine claims the souls of werewolves, it may be the same for Molag Bal.

And Mola Bal's shrine can be seen in the trailer, so it is safe to assume he is involved. What do you think about this? A vampire afterlife where you can feed on the dead after five or more lifetimes of feeding on the living?

it is probably not the same for molag bal, he is probably an uncaring [censored] to his creations while hircine treats his hounds as his pets. i do hope it is a deadric realm though

p.s. the sepulcher was not a deadric realm

I meant Evergloam, not the Supulcher. And you are right, to a point. Molag is an antagonist to his own offspring. Yet I wouldn't be surprised if he favors them if they keep sowing seeds of discords and malice.

Your hopes may be crushed, because it is a new realm. The trailer shows a portal that descends into a compltely new place. It seems like it is Sovngarde for vampires.

Its going to be the Volikiar fighting vampire hunters called the Dawnguard. The Volikiar will probably want to block out the sun so that they can rule Tamriel. Thus Dawnguard.

It'll probably take place within the relm of Nirn too, it'd make sense.

iv been to a page on the UESP that talked about the "Soul Carin," (i have not heard of it in game though) it is supposedly a place that is a realm of the dead and is ruled by the "perfect masters," maybe we get to give it a visit? sounds dark enough for a vampire DLC imo

If vampires do go to Coldhabour when they die, I doubt it's nice for them. It probably involves eternal domination, torture and [censored].

We don't know if they are the Volkihar. But who knows? I know Dawnguard is a faction who fights against the vampires. But my question was the new realm we visit.

Maybe. I looked it up on the Imperial library a few hours ago, and it matches many concepts of vampirism,

It is different from the Hunting Grounds. And you are right. A developmet mentioned anyone who goes into Molag Bal's realm, willing or unwilling, will be put into charnel houses.

I hope a daedric prince isn't involved. My character worships the daedra, but I want to side with the vampire hunters. If the vampires are working for a daedric lord, then I'll probably have to side with them even though "I" don't want to.

The portal to another realm. It is interesting that we visit the portal AS a vampire, rather than a member of the Dawnguard. But I don't think Bethesda would cheat the human/Dawnguard players by not allowing them to visit this underworld afterlife.

Edit: It is similar to the Misty Grove portal which leads into one of Sanguine's Realm: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/imageshare/images/259193-1325614887.jpg or where Nocturnal rises from: http://images.wikia.com/elderscrolls/images/e/e8/Nocturnal_real.jpg

that portal did look suspiciously like the one to sovngarde, and it would make sense if says feed on the souls of the dead. If you want to get a better look at it do not watch the gamespot anolysis.. they dont even recognise the Elder Scrolls!

Well we did see a vampire lord go beneath a frozen lake in the trailer so I think it's safe to say that the vampires in Dawngaurd are true volkihars.

The portal to Sovngarde is much http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2011/343/0/4/sovngarde_portal_by_nevaeh_lleh511-d4il3kw.jpg. Not to mention the area looks nothing like Sovngarde. It looks like a regular gloomy realm with lightning and dead trees. Everything looks http://imageshack.us/f/703/placew.png/.

Considering Molag Bal is the lord of vampires, like all Deadric Princes who claim the souls of mortals that are aligned to them such as Lycans go to Hircine, All orc's unless they profoundly and unspeakable aligned with another lord goes to Malacath. The deadrice princes require the followers and collection of souls as power and currency. Molag Bal, claims all vampires in life and in death for he is the creator who spawned them onto nirn. It is very likely since vampires worship molag bal that the oblivion realm attached to this will be molag bals realm. and vampire or not we will probably end up in it, weather to kill some master vampires or to become molag bal's vampire champion.

The real question is, are they trying to make Vampires cooler then Werewolves? are Werewolves going to get a boost too so we can have epic transformed vampire vs big furry werewolf fights? Ohhh Yeaaah said the cool-aid man.

Well okay yes the area looked on the other side looked nothing like the Sovngarde we've seen, but who's to say that this is a different part of it, or something has gone rather wrong with the place... Or If Sovngarde is where heroes/warriors and that go, perhaps this is the nordic "hell" were the corrupt go.

And now my dreams are crushed. :(

Hmmm, in one of the screens it looked like one of the dark, gloomy, lightening places was the actual Dawnguard stronghold. Maybe that's what happens to it if the vampires succeed?

I am sure that it IS Molag Bal's realm.. or at least one he made for Vampires. I remember a book in game that said that HE made the vampires.. so it would make sense. He is over domination and deception, two things vampires rely on.
