Fell in love with Falkreath but then... *argh*

Falkreath, Winterhold and eventually Dawnstar all have "player housing," just not in the way you guys are talking.

I highly doubt there will be DLC incorporating player housing in any of those areas for that reason alone.

Same here for Morthal, even though when you live in Solitude you don't need to travel very far.

Steady supply of Death Bell and Swamp Fungal Pod for poisons is awesome.
me too i love morthal and would definatley prefer to live there than one of the bigger cities. like you said my assasin loves that area for all the deathbell and swamp fungal...

It would be great to have even a modest home with a sitting porch close to the shore on the land north of Solitude where you could sit on the porch and listen to the sound of the sea, the waves coming to shore. I love it up there because of that. I walk those shores a lot looking for ingredients. :tes:

How far away is the alchemist's shack from Falkreath? I can't quite remember. Failing that, can you store your stuff somewhere in the DB sanctuary?

I have a pretty good feeling that we will be able to build our own house pretty soon (as seen in the gamejam video.) Hopefully there will be multiple locations for us to place our new home as well. I don't think I have ever been more excited for an expansion pack as I am with the upcoming Skyrim DLC.

Yeah, I quite liked Falkreath also. Yet I liked Morthal more, the whole concept of me being this small towns one and only defender against the horrors of Hjaalmarch. I kind like the concept of the pale, but its just so..... Desolate.
I'm currently working on an estate to put into Hjaalmarch somewhere, just don't know where. Fort Snowhawk is allready in the prime position, and i've got no idea how to use the CK's terraforming tools, but I've got most of the inside done, just fine touches like lighting to go, which is a pain in the backside.

Are there any people in these towns that have a house and that you can marry? That could be an option.

TBH, having too many player houses can get unwieldy, plus I have to buy every one of the darn things.

However, one or two of the smaller towns should have a Non-Thane House that can be purchased for players who want to be unaligned, or at least not bothered with the requirements at that point in the game.

falkreath is a town of death and despair, hence the large cemetery, no place to settle down and start a family

If you really want to live there you could marry a local and move in with them ;)

In my game Falkreath really is a place of death. It was visted by a rather nasty dragon, well to the local populace it was.

The main issue is storage. That's the only reason I get houses. Unless it's a house for sale, it's not safe and WILL reset. I think there's only one or two containers that are exceptional. It's not like Morrowind, where you could just take any house you wanted.

I certainly wouldn't object to the ability to build a house out in the woods of Falkreath, or the Tundra of Winterhold or the Pale, or a house in the hills of the Rift. Even if the locations are set, it'd be nice to have that option to have a house built out in the wilderness of each of the nine holds. Fingers crossed that being able to build your own house is something added in a patch or DLC.

Well, it was pretty short and sweet (from a quest perspective anyways) and I didnt particularly care for the area so I wasn't bummed. I would rather be on the beach.........waaaahaaaaahaaaaa
I love the Falkreath area. It is a nice summer pine forest, filled with greenery and life. Very comfortable. With a little modding I got rid of the fog, so now it is nice and sunny almost all the time as well (I left a little chance for rain).

Since my character Primrose loved it so much, I made her a little http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/Skyrim/Skyrim074.jpg just outside of town. (The tree stump is hollow, and safe storage).

Same for Dawnstar here...in fact, I think my next character's first home will be there. Even if I have to build it myself.

I've just had that idea, and I love it :)
The first house (and so far the only one), I have modded for the game is in Dawnstar. Well worth building yourself. The Sea of Ghosts is beautiful at sunrise and sunset.

You've chosen a pretty damp area to build your house, man... Personally, I'd go for the Rift or Haafingar.

Myself, I've chosen the Pale (Dawnstar to be precise). I'm building a nice 3-floor house just near the shore with a little lighthouse acting as a small "co-house" on top of the cliffs, both connected via a big subterranian abode-warehouse. So far I've only the basic layout for it (interiors/exteriors), and http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/559813303745903562/87ED25B9A67517EBD9CAB0692E728DF0D9B9D7EF/ (well, it's still WIP, but oh well..).

Yes, it is :) That's why I decided to include a lighthouse on top of the cliffs, too. I plan to make a nice terrace there :D

There are some places, like the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Alchemist%27s_Shack. And these http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Skyrim-Places-Safe

I don't know how many of those have beds or utilities like Alchemy and Enchanting tables though. Not sure about the appeal of living in a fort or ruin either. How's http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Goldenglow_Estate for a nice home though? Though you do have to clear it out first. I don't know if you can use the bed or not either...

Well yeah, I do think there should be more places actually made for living that aren't associated with cities or being thane.

WTF. Last time I checked (a while ago), there were far fewer safe storage cells. That's awesome. Some more safe houses would be nice, but it's cool that there's a little variety (caves, ruins, shacks).

I love Falkreath too! But I hate that it takes forever for guards to respawn. I made the forest area a hunting territory for my werewolf. And everynight no one walks the streets, locked up in their own homes as if the game registered that I always kill there or something.

Falkreath hold is pretty big. Helgen was within it, and the territory stretches up to Lake Illnata. In fact, Riverwood is just a few feet over the boundary line, which is why Jarl Balgruf's steward advises him to not send soldiers to Riverwood lest the Jarl of Falkreath take it as a hostile action.

Unfortunately I don't like either possible Jarl so clearly I, as dragonborn, am going to have to rebuild Helgen and locate my palace there and supplant them both.
