Now for my .02 in this...
First off, I can understand her frustration over their not being an equal amount of gender representation. Look at it this way: alot of other online games have only males in them. The problem with that it...that's all they ever do. Game after game after game, they only have males in them. And that can be frustrating after a while for a female. You would think that in this day and age, there would be a bit more equal representaion in games for males and females. Now, for another look at it.
The game that springs to mind is Perfect Dark 64. Great game, pushed the N64 to its limits, and your characters were all female. Yet, when you played (at least for me) that never bothered me. They could be as rutheless as I wanted them to be, because they did what I wanted them to do, not what they wanted to do. And that goes for every game out there. Characters within a game only do what you tell them to do, and their actions are not restricted by gender. You play the character how you want, and thats all that. matters. When I plan any online game, I only see an enemy. Not a male, not a female, just an enemy. I also see what they can do (and in BRINK, thats a hell of a lot) and that defines who they are.
So, to summerize, I can understand her frustration about this. But also, you shouldn't let that get in the way of playing something you enjoy.
P.S.-Every girl I have played against in any online game has kicked my ass. And most of the time, they were a male character...
