Filling Grand Soul Gems - HowWhereWhat? : V - Skyrim

Sweet: got 19 Grand Souls (had the exact right amount (coincidence) of Grand Soul Gems and Azura's Star). :tongue:

When I did that quest with my Dark Elf, I had no clue those shades had grand souls, so I only had about five or six empties on me. And I wasn't going to bail out halfway through and scour all of Skyrim for more gems. So I chalked it up to live and learn.

When my Level 10 Breton mage is ready to do that quest, she's gonna be prepared. :evil:

I dont think youre going to get your grove on with a 20 foot statue. meridia is otherwise a big glowing ball of light hovering awkwardly in skyrims stratosphere.

The strongest of Draugr and Falmer (Deathlords and Shadowmasters, I believe) fill Grand Soul Gems, so you may want to find a few temples and Dwemer cities to kill some, finding them shouldn't be a problem at your level.

Edit: Court mages and general stores (like Belethor's in Whiterun) usually sell some soul gems, alchemists and blacksmiths don't. Not to sure about Khajiit caravans, but I believe they sometimes have them too.

yea Khajiit caravans got Soul Gems but Not the black Soul Gems you can get Black Soul Gems from Mages tho.

I just wander around and buy all the Grand soul gems that are filled. I can make a circuit ever few days and have plenty for whatever enchanting I need to do. It's WAY easier, and gold certainly isn't a problem in this game.

the only problem is that very few merchants sell black soul gems and usaully only 1 at time. absolutely ridiculous.

Get the Black Star then so you can enjoy a reusable black soul gem.

Yeah, I just happened to have 18 Grands and Azura's Star and I only got the 'no soul gem' message when I killed the human at the end so I think I had just enough.

Edit: I guess I'll scour Skyrim for the model for that statue then. :lol:

Easiest way i've found to get Grand Souls, is to get the Black Star and kill Bandits with a Soul Trap Weapon. I use Mace of Molag Bal for it, and it's like having Umbra+Azura's Star from Oblivion. After every kill that fills the Black Star, i immediately use the Black Star to recharge my Mace of Molag Bal, no matter how little charges are used. It levels my Enchanting pretty fast without having to go back to town, especially when i'm killing Bandits or such, since Black Souls are always Grand, even if the NPC is like Lvl 6.
