Final Fantasy svcks. I haven't liked it since FF9. Skyrim is way better than anime porm.

Every time I've tried to play a FF game I've been struck by it's amazing ability to combine tedium with melodrama. That and I find most of the characters pretentious and insufferable. But that's just me. You're free to like whatever you want. That's why I'm here and not on a FF forum.

Don't get me wrong: the Japanese make great games. They're called survival horror games.

yet everyone talks about the characters of final fantasy... they have the most memorble cast of any rpg and always will...Nobody talks about skyrims characters,or any of bethsdas characters for that matter on here.. they have absolutly nothing distinct at all going for them.. they aren't attractive, they aren't interesting, they arent funny... they just svck...

I mean lets be honest did any of you actaully go up to every npc in every city in skyrim and listen to every last word they said..? If you did you offically have NO LIFE..

I mean you guys can admit it, you can like the fact that skyrim is open but a good portion of it's content is dull..

Where as final fantasy is a story and experience that keeps you captivated from start to finish..

Sorry, but the ONLY Final Fantasy game worth its weight in salt is FF Tactics*, and that's is due solely for the gameplay and not the bland story. FF stories have always been weak, coupled with lackluster combat mechanics and forgetable characters (I have yet to play a FF game that I didn't want to kill the main character an hour into the game). Ever since FFVII they have been hold-my-hand easy and have been getting more linear than a Call of Duty game. What's worse is that now we're getting sequels to sequels. I can't wait until we get FF XIII Part 2 Round 2 Hyper Fighting Champion Edition 3.

* You might be able to get me to give FF6 an honerable mention, but I wouldn't call it great.

Ahha, [censored], this is true. I [censored] loved FFX, like worshiped it, but Vivec/Almalexia/Sotha Sil, are, to me, much more memoriable than any of the FFX main cast.

Are you talking about VII or the series as a whole? I've played all the numbered one release so far except X-2 and XIII - X was the last good one, and that was release a LONG time ago

It's true, I do remember the characters from FF. I remember how much I disliked them. Maybe it's because I found them completely unbelievable. And the only reason the story keeps you captivated is because you spend all of your time watching cutscenes. I'd rather play a game.

It's not really trolling if im bringing up valid points in my posts..I prefer to call it informing the brainwashed skyrim fanbase that huge content/exploration doesnt = amazing..

I can think of 2 FF characters off the top of my head: Cloud, because it's a [censored] name and he's pretty much the only character anyone I know actually talks about, and Vivi, because I liked the throwback to the older artstyle of the mages. Oh, make that 3 characters: Sid, there is always a Sid.

The appeal of TES is not the characters anyway, it's the freedom of the open world and, in Skryim at least, the stories contained in the quests, particularly the Main Quest and the Civil War. I'm not even playing through either Civil War quest but I'm enjoying it as a backdrop.
