First person view on horse?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:47 pm

Now that mounted combat is in the game wouldn't it be great if we could have a first person view while riding out horses into glorious battle. 1. It would make it easier to line up enemies with whatever side of the horse you're swinging from, and 2. It would add to the realism of mounted combat. As an added touch, whatever side you're swinging from, the camera could lean slightly over to that side so you can see you're target better.

I agree with this... They had this in Oblivion so why can't they have it in Skyrim?

It would be a nice feature, so like most of the posts above me, agreed.

I would without a doubt use horses a lot more if I could stay in first person mode, it's a feature I really hope they bring back, not just for horses but for werewolves and sooner or later vampire lords.

Agree. Any kind of camera view "options are always welcome", just like in the PC Game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXJ7DoEfqFg.

Its very hard to control the horse while shooting arrows in 3rd person view. If you are riding away and looking at your target your bow is really facing forward so you miss... Its very annoying...

The aiming is kinda off also.... I had to aim a little to the left to hit my target..

I had found that first person horse riding in Oblivion was irritating and difficult to use, so I always rode the horse in third person.

Basically, I'm entirely content with having horse riding constantly in third person, since it's what I would be doing anyway.

1st person would definitely help with the new mounted combat.

I honestly don't care. I'm fine without the 1st person view.

Though I did find it to be quite amusing jumping repeatedly while on the horse in Oblivion.

It's ears would pop up like a little bunny rabbit!

A large, bulky, stinky, bunny rabbit.

Really? I am pro 3rdP but I do switch back and forth from time to time. Using 1stP in Obl was the ONLY way I could control the horse.

I tried out the horse in the first day of release...I have yet to mount purchase one since. I have stolen one but that was an emergency get away. The main issue I have with them is not being able to rotate the camera while continuing in your riding direction.

I rarly used horses in Obl. but when I did it was in 1stP and it seems that you could continue running forward while panning the camera to the side.

I alternate between first person and third person when I'm just my character, but I couldn't stand first person horse riding.

And I keep a horse around. One I bought from Solitude. Cream fur and white mane. I never used it much, unless I was exploring, but now I use it for mounted combat.

Agreed. 1st person view Horse riding should have been in since release. TES is slowly turning into all the things it stood against.

Why do you stay here if all you seem to say in your posts are: "TES is streamlined" "TES is appealing to the console kiddies!" It's pathetic really.
