Oh, for the love...

I made an account over at the Capcom forum to post in the Dragons Dogma section. somehow we got on the subject of Skyrim glitches. I told the poster i never had a glitch. and this is what he said to me.

I seriously suggest you start playing the lottery, with that kind of luck you will probably win. Bethesda games are notorious for being buggy as all get out. If you never experienced one you either haven't played long enough or it was just a fluke.

I can think of 3 different quests and multiple CTD's just off the top of my head. Oh and that really funny one where it was impossible to become a t.... you know let's not worry about it. Suffice to say it had bugs.

I've never had a glitch in Skyrim. And i know i'm not the only one who has a great experience playing Skyrim. With over 500 hours played and i think 20 characters or so i have never had a glitch  Who else has never had a glitch?

I'm having a great experience with Skyrim myself (782 hours), even if I experienced a few glitches.

I have had 3 glitches, all solved by reloading the save and doing that sequence again.

The game has some issues that appear for some people, but most of those have been patched out, and there is more patching coming.

I have also never had a glitch. Actually, that's not true.. The fist fight with Hofgrir at Riften stables. I accepted to brawl but didn't have the gold required at that point (I usually had little or no gold in the early game). That quest broke and now I can not get it out of my miscellaneous quest journal.

But, other than that I've played about 300 hours and have never had any other problems.

My CTD's have nearly always been due to my PC not being able to handle a mod I added.

I have had a hand full of broken quests, but nothing game breaking. I do see graphical glitches from time to time, but when creating an entire living world that can be expected. I did see the flying mammoth once, I just tried to pretend I didn't.

I get the giant smashing you 100 ft in the air glitch quite a lot but it's pretty hilarious in my opinion. Bethesda should leave it in it think.

I've seen the Mammoth's as well but usually they live. I wouldn't exactly call that a glitch. they just spawned at the wrong height.

That's just because your armor rating and health are low. But then again the Devs might have intended that :P

I've had a few glitches, mostly graphical, and a few quest bugs but mostly solvable by reloading and redoing. I haven't found a solution for the quests of 1 jarl that stay in the journal even after he rewards me for doing them but it has no effect other than making my journal look untidy.

Nothing major, just little minor ones that I can either ignore or fix myself, nothing that Oblivion,Morrowind didn't prepare me for . I think it is luck of the draw when it come to having a buggy game or not, I guess we're the lucky ones is all. I'm on 360 by the way, still playing since day one, got over 1000 hours clocked on 9-10 toon's, if I'm not playing Halo, I'm playing Skyrim

And by definition, that would be a glitch.

Just an irregularity. Okay fine. i've never had a serious glitch. i still wouldn't count it as one. What? you think Mammoth's can't jump?

Nothing a quick reload didn't fix. I have played the majority of Bethesdas games because I have not had any problems with their games produced or published. You know how it is in the gaming world, any problems arise and the victim card gets pulled pretty quick(and yes my card is in my back pocket ready to be whipped out at a moment's notice)

Everyone has the bug where enemy weapons dont despawn and stay on the ground forever.
This contributes to savegame bloating.

Pretty sure atomic Nirnroot is pervasive on all platforms as well.

Everyone who has the game has the Red Eagle bug, where the quest starts from stage one again if you pick up the book again after completing the quest.

These are off the top of my head.

Yeah those are bugs/glitches but I have chose to ignore those ones cause there really isn't anything to be done other then playing gardener/janitor of Skyrim so I chose to quit those duties and resume my duties as dovahkiin/death  I will however still pick up after myself when killing NPC's but not as often as I did, just got sick of running up that hill trying to avoid " save bloat " so now I just do basic clean up.

Only one that I haven't been able to resolve, an that is Blood on The Ice where Viola has disappeared. Other than that, no problems. And that's on PS3

My game have crashed a few times and I had a problem with the backward dragons when that was a problem, but other than that I have had a very stable experience. I have been playing since launch.

Skyrim is full of glitches & bugs but 99% of these are insignificant, They are glitches nonetheless & a simple look at the last few patch notes will tell you the amount of glitches that were/are in Skyrim, I'm not sure that anyone can say with any confidence that their experience has been glitch free unless you move the thread in the direction of serious/gamebreaking/cannot ignore glitches.

That changes it somewhat, A glitch that can be ignored is still a glitch.

I've had some bugs & glitches, Nothing that a reload or console command could not fix, Overall a reliable Bethesda experience.

Most of the bugs/glitches ive had were graphical *though having your FPS drop to 0 more then it should is pretty bad*, ive had a couple of quests bug but those were all minor and easily fixed by uploading my save file onto my PC with Modio, converting it to a PC save file, then opening it with the PC version of Skyrim and just using the console commands to fix it, while it is a hassle i have not needed to do it much.

I've never been able to get Blood on the Ice to work properly. And I'm up to date with patches and all that.

Shame, would like to do that quest. :(

I've had my share of glitches and even some mesh placements issues, but nowhere near the ******in' S*** that happened with DX3 HR!

Where players cannot finish a side-quest where you need to knock out a character/take out NPCs because of spawning issues...That WASN'T even addressed via a patch! Not even a year old and the game's been abandoned! (I know, I know, a year after launch is not abnormal, but Bethesda has spoiled me!) But I've yet to find any game-breakers in all my hours of playing...

BTW, I'm on the PC, and not on a console.

Bethesda wanted to keep to the date they said to release it. Sure it had bugs but it was mostly ironed out.
