I've been spending my maths lessons at school coming up with the most awesome character I could think up :D

Name: Connor McManus
six: Male
Race: Caucasian
Age: 30’s
Karma: Undefined
Bio:
Born to two watelanders, a 40 year old father and an unknown mother, Connor is an old-breed, silver-tongued, womanizing, bad-[censored] Irish gunslinger with a good heart and a drinking problem. A post-apocalyptic cowboy, he’s a natural born fighter, whether it be with his fists or a gun, and has a real bad attitude towards [censored] heads. Growing up in the Wasteland, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of mainstream weaponry, knowing them inside and out. He’s had extensive experience with Wasteland survival, having lived a loner for the majority of his youth after his father died of intense radiation sickness. A strong man, he’s had enough brawls to last him a life time, getting into trouble frequently in his chase for cash, thrills and broads. He’s a quick shot with a pistol, deadly accurate with a rifle, and he’s one hell of a fighter. He travelled extensively in his youth, already drinking by age 18, causing trouble in every town he came across, normally not staying longer than a night on his way West to the Mojave Wasteland. He gambles on everything, whether it be money or his life, and has constant disregard for his personal safety and well being. The first man he killed was an unknown raider, whom Connor was simply threatening with an “unloaded” revolver before the gun accidentally went off. He now spends his spare time as a simple wanderer in the Mojave Wasteland, or at least he did...

I like to play the low-life :P

Post yours?

EDIT: Oh yea, and he'll be modeled off of Irish actor Colin Farrell ;)

Very well, but the story of my character is quite inconsequential. His father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. His mother was a fifteen-year-old French prosttute named Chloe with webbed feet. His father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy...the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess in the insane lament. My character's childhood was typical...summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring he'd make meat helmets. When he was insolent, he was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds...pretty standard, really. At the age of twelve, he received his first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved his testicles.

You're really going to squeeze your character build into that role? Good luck man. I'd probably make a backstory or something too but I feel I'd just be betraying the RP every time I wore a new piece of gear I want to experiment with or something. I'll just pretend to be myself: a 20 yr old, 5'10", 8 different ethnicity kid who finds himself in a bad situation in the Wasteland and let things take off from there.

Name: Farg Vern

Age: 23

six: Heck yea.... i mean, Male

Race: Cockasian (Caucasian)

Karma: Neutral (Does what it takes to survive)

Bio: Farg's dad came from a little ol' vault known as vault 13. Him and his dad stuck closer then two brahmin heads on one body. Then one day as they wandered into nevada there was a loud explosion that came from behind them. Then a laugh. The next thing Farg knew was that a giant hammer was being swung at him. Supermutants had ambushed him and his father. After waking from the two week concusion he woke to a group of men. One was hovering above his bed. After the man explaind that Farg was attacked by Supermutants and his dad died, he handed him his dads Vault suit. Then he took the suit back contimplating, he looked at you, then the suit. "Wait here", the man said. Not like Farg was going anywhere. The man, a few hours later, came back with the vault 13 suit but it looked much more, armoured. "This should help you on your job" , the man announced. "Trip? What trip?", Farg thought to himself. Then the next thing Farg knew he was being shoved out the door with a package in his hand. Someone shouted from the roof above, "Run, Run Fast!". At that momment Farg broke into a sprint heading straight for the town of Primm, Nevada. When he was around a mile or two out from Primm, he relized how uncomfortable the armoured Vault suit was. He stopped to take it off. In that momment a few men popped out of no where and greeted him. One looked at the package with suspiscion, mumbled a few words, then let the hilt of their gun hit him in the forhead.

This is a relatively rough background of my character, there are a few plot holes but meh.

My character will be an ex-enclave soldier, sent over from out east before the fall of eden to find any enclave remnents that may be in hiding and collect from them their equipment, by force if necessary.
He left with a small squad of enclave, consisting of five other soldiers, one of which was his older brother and two techs, in a virtibird modified to carry extra fuel reserves to make the long journey, this was to be his first real assigment. Along the way there was engine trouble, and an emergency landing had to be performed. His squad set up camp for the night while the techs tried to repair the malfunction.

My character awakes to the sound of an explosion, and quickly realises they have been ambushed, the virtibird is up in flames and is now surrounded by several large, tranlucent supermutants. He cannot see where the rest of his squad is other then his brother, a couple of yards away, being pulled out of his suit piece by piece. One of the supermutants tells my character to get out of his armour, unarmed and terrified, he complies.
Standing in the cold wastes, near naked, my character is approached by one of the super mutants, expecting to be killed, eaten or worse he closes his eyes to try and escape the horror and shame of being bested by mutants, when a gunshot eccoes from the darkness, the supermutent drops, more shots out of no where and two more supermutents are killed, while the others disappear into the night.

Out of the darkness step several members of the brotherhood of steel, come to investigate the expolosion. My character is tied up while the BOS ransack what is left of the enclave gear. Taking whatever they find they prepare to leave, my character still tied up, the leader takes pity on my character, dropping a handfull of caps, some ragged clothes and a small handgun next to him before leaving without a word.
My character manages to untie himself as the sun starts to rise, he glances over at the virtibird wreckage and the pieces of meat that used to be his squad, filled with a mixture of shame, rage and disgust he decides against any attempts to go back east, knowing he couldnt face his superiors after being ambushed by mutants, assisted by the BOS who essentially to him are also mutants, power armor stolen, brother dead and mission incomplete, he decides to continue west instead, hoping to find some semblance of redemption.

He travels for a several years taking odd jobs along the way to get by, his heart slowly hardening through his travels, but his first mission is never far from his thoughts. Eventually he reaches the mojave wasteland, where he takes a job that will get him a few of the easiest caps of his career, delivering a package, how hard could that be...

I have a few ideas for other characters but this will probably be my first.

Name: http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/6649/annieportrait.jpg (named from a silly name-port of a very similarly colored Oblivion char I made)
Age: 23
Hair: Copper
Eyes: Green
Place of Birth: Jefferson Memorial
Karma: Good
SPECIAL: 5-8-4-4-8-6-5
Tags: Energy Weaps, Repair, Science

Known as the "Lone Wanderer" out east, Annie was ever-restless and lived up to her moniker. She ventured westward, beyond the reach of the news of her famous deeds in the Capital Wasteland, making do by either fixing things or by being a caravan guard. She suffered the loss of her faithful canine companion Dogmeat, and also of her faithful electronic companion Pipboy along the way.

Quite smart but rather harebrained. A whiz with anything technical. Can get pretty damn righteous and violent when her morals are affronted by some misdeed to herself or others. And that's a very bad thing for whoever perpetrated it. Much plasma and laser fire will ensue.

Made it to California eventually, and took an oddjob ferrying some weird poker chip to some recluse in "New Vegas". Got stopped by some group of thugs along the way.
Spoiler
In a fit of http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CutsceneIncompetence, she got shot in the head and left for dead. Fortunately for her, she got hit in her http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Walking_with_Spirits (her brain http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9005 BTW), and didn't quite die from it.
Revived by some country doctor.

Dr Samuel Fresco
Spoiler
Dr Samuel Fresco

Male

Dr Samuel Fresco is a very impatient man, he believes things need to be done quick rather than for them to take time.
Which is why he don't like to stay around his patients all too much and rather take risky quick solutions rather than taking a safer longer procedure.
Fresco does not believe in kindness, he's seen too many evils around the wastes and knows that every single man woman and child will do something horrible
if their pushed into a corner with no way out.
He does not believe in his fellow man, only believes in himself.
Egocentric and on the verge of being delusional he proclaims himself as gods gift to earth.
He came on a caravan to Vegas from Boulder but on arrival he was mugged and beaten up for all he was worth.
Knowing the harsh wasteland he knew he couldn't get around without any money, so he signed up to deliver a package with the Mojave Express.
"Should be easy enough" he thought to himself.
But once again he was proven right when raiders kidnapped him and a man shot him twice.
After waking up in Mitchells office he just waltzed straight out of there and wandered the wastes for a couple of weeks in depression.
And after thinking through what he was going to do with his life, he figured it out.
He's going to test each and every wastelander he could find, and if they failed the test, he will kill them.
To eradicate the lesser humans.
To ensure the safety of those who deserves it.
His killing spree is just starting...

Name: Tommy Angelo
six: Male
Race: Caucasian
Age: 40
Karma: Very good if I can do that when joining the Omerta ;)
Bio:
Nothing all that special.
Tommy Angelo did all kinds of jobs throughout his life but never has he found anything that could hold his interest for long.
The war changed a lot and the last thing he did was working as a courrier until something went awry.

He's a social guy on the one hand who needs people around him, but he has these little quirks in his mind which make him on the other hand the asocial type at times.
He never feels completely understood by people hence why he needs to withdraw now and then and spend some time alone.
Gather his thoughts, evaluating everything, he's a thinker and he can't help it to question everything that happens around him.

He's missing his family and is always on the lookout to feel apart of somekind of family again.
A feeling of belonging somewhere, someplace.

Tommy is just trying to survive every day life and now even more has changed after he got himself into trouble.
He will make the best out of it again, that's for sure, but he's determined about one thing, track down the people that shot him and get his revenge.

What the rest of his future has in store is unsure, but Tommy won't give up and will do everything to get through another day out in the Mojave desert.

Thunder

Shark

Suicide (ok I actually like this)

These just nick names or what?

But everything else looks great.

Well Shark's real name is Ben Gillian.
But each of these characters have a backstory to them where they have thrown away their original name because they find it to not suit them anymore.
The people who know them know them by their nicknames people have given them.
They've basically forgotten their former self, they've become different people from what they once were.
So yeah I will stick with the nicks instead.

With Thunder I thought of the norse god Thor, and since he was the god of thunder I found it to fit him looking like Thor and having the name Thunder.
Suicide on the other hand is from a movie, did not come up with his name or his personality or even SPECIAL.
All is taken from that character in the movie, Return Of The Living Dead.
And Shark, he was a former raider, a real nut-case, used to eat people, I bet we aren't going to have this tattoo in the game but I imagine him with a Glasgow Smile tattoo with teeth tattoed in on the sides of his jaw.

So they had real names once upon a time but the wasteland is cruel and unforgiving and their nicknames earned by people who feared or loved them sort of stuck.
And they forgot their self, what they once were and who they were.

that is, assuming the Courier doesn't already have a backstory that gets explained as you go along.. "ie you were House's second in command once, but you left because blah blah and that's the reason they rigged it for you to be carrying the xyz and end up with a bullet in the head" etc

I'm not coming up with a backstory unless the courier categorically has no history whatsoever.

Some enjoy role playing the outlandish. In these games I hate cliched and generic classes/builds. Why else would i RP an Alien, or a mad scientist, or a noir private investigator, Danzig, Mary Poppins, the list really goes on and on. I did this in the ES series and I will do it in all games that give me this much choice. then again some of us are just sick.

After the Great War has destroyed most of the USA. A solitary traveler is captured by a fascist military group called the Holnists led by dictator-like General Bethlehem. When he escapes from the Holnists he finds an abandoned mail Jeep and uniform, and starts to travel through small cities, telling them he is a postman, a representative of the restored United States. No one believes him at first ... oh wait ;)

Name: Butch DeLoria
six: Male
Race: Caucasian
Age: 23
Karma: Very Evil
Bio:
The Lone Wanderer, Jolene Micah, is a good girl who's been through so much few people would give her credit for being a 'good girl' anymore. After some traumatizing experiences her compassion and appreciation for life itself took a beating.
She had to escape Vault 101 with guards trying to kill her, she traveled for weeks on end searching for her father in a harsh wasteland, she was used by Doctor Braun for his entertainment inside his simulation only to rescue her father and see him die right in front of her eyes at Project Purity. She slowly changed from "doing what's right" to "doing what has to be done" to "doing what amuses you at the moment". And in her case, after seeing death up close time after time, doing what amuses her usually concerns murder and theft.
After her father's death, she travels back to Megaton, and hears Amata's distress call. She returns to Vault 101. Not so much to help Amata or anyone else, but to set the record straight with anyone who betrayed her in the past. But most of all, she goes back to check up on how Butch is doing. She always did fancy Butch, and wanted to make sure he's okay.
Butch was okay, but sick of the Vault. He wanted to go outside and put his mark on the wasteland. He proposed sabotaging the Vault, which Jolene does. Oh, and she kills Allen Mack and Amata Almodovar. For the sake of it. Amidst the chaos of the sabotage, Jolene loses track of Butch. Days later, she goes to Rivet City to collect some things from her hotel room and finds Butch downing whiskey in the Muddy Rudder.
They decide to revive the Tunnel Snakes, and live the good life in Rivet City, going out for 'amusemant' and income. At the Rivet City market Butch and Jolene meet a girl named Mei Wong. Wong tells them about her being a runaway slave, and after receiving some caps, tells the two about Temple of the Union, a hideout for escaped slaves near Canterbury Commons. Intrigued by the concept of slavery, the Tunnel Snakes travel to the Temple and earn the slaves' trust. They are asked to check out the Lincoln Memorial for any Super Mutants, and go there in hope of learning more about slavery in the Capital Wasteland. After all, slavery could be a lucrative business for the two, and the slaves at the Temple may tell them where to find slavers after they return.
However, upon arriving at the Memorial, they learn it's already taken by slavers searching for the very slaves they just met. They discuss with Leroy Walker and decide to take down the slaves at the Temple together. Afterwards, the slavers tell Butch and Jolene about Paradise Falls, the centre of slaver business in the Capital Wasteland. They travel there, and get svcked into the trade, enslaving Arkansas from Ridgefield, Red from Big Town, Flak from Rivet City and Susan Lancaster from Tenpenny Tower.

Meanwhile, they notice a distress call from a man named Wernher via their Pip-Boys, and discuss the situation with Eulogy Jones. Jones is afraid there's trouble in The Pitt, the city that has been buying most slaves off Paradide Fall's hands, and it would be bad for business to lose the city as a client. Jones sends the two to deal with the situation, and after they decide to let Jolene go to The Pitt, posing to be a slave to stop the revolt. Jolene works her way up in The Pitt, sides with Ishmael Ashur, kills Wernher and Midea and stops the slaves' uprising.
After returning to DC, she reunites with Butch to continue their work as slavers. They bring in Bryan Wilks from Grayditch, Bumble from Little Lamplight, and Mei Wong from Rivet City. Little did Wong know her confession about being a runaway slave would cause Butch and Jolene to take the path of slavery, eventually getting Wong back behind bars at Paradise Falls.

Butch and Jolene buy their own slave, Clover, for their amusemant and protection, only for her to get killed by a Feral Ghoul Reaver. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Eventually, they meet a dog, Dogmeat, and a man named Tinker Joe from whom they buy a robot, Sergeant RL-3. They went on their way, taking the fight to the Enclave to avenge James' death, returning the android to Dr. Zimmer, taking out the Outcasts and eventually ***Fallout 3 SPOILER*** blowing up the town of Megaton and blowing the Citadel to smithereens.

After all this, they realize their part in the Capital Wasteland is played. They have memories of the wastes, both good and bad, and it's time for them to go. Jolene has had enough, her story is done. She wants to leave the wasteland and live a life of calm. She decides to go to Point Lookout, where mercenaries, Regulators, Outcasts, Brothers of Steel and Enclave remnants won't bother to look for her. They leave Dogmeat to the care of RL-3, and travel to the pier. There, Butch and Jolene part ways. Jolene wants to leave the chaos of the wasteland, but Butch isn't coming with her. Instead, he remembers the old Vault 101 classes where Brotch taught them about pre-war geography. They learned about the old cities, and Butch was fascinated by the city of Las Vegas. Vegas was a city stuffed with women, drink, fun and gambling. And, since "being sober really svcks", Butch decides to go there. There has to be something left, a city as good as Las Vegas can't just disappear because of the war. He's done with the war-ravaged DC, and decides to stock up on whiskey and guns, and take his chances traveling to Las Vegas.

So there their life together ends. Jolene goes to Point Lookout, sides with Desmond Lockheart, takes down Calvert, murders Obadiah Blackhall and takes his mansion. I haven't really decided on her ending yet. Either she finds her life of calm living in Blackhall Manor, hunting swampfolk and Ghouls at Plik's for fun, or she continues to be haunted by her memories from DC and decides to take her own life.

Butch DeLoria takes his trusty Magnum, and heads west, excited about Las Vegas. Maybe there's even a slaving organisation in Vegas which he can join, because nothing beats the thrill of enslaving some defenseless chap.

Tunnel Snakes rule, but they're done. It's time to grow up, and find a new style. Maybe go retro, he was always interested in the Roman Empire during Brotch's classes anyway. ;-)

^Quite a long story, haha. But I like playing as someone with an extensive history, so it's perfect. Can't wait, only nine more days I believe. <3

Helen Shannon, sister of Catherine, aunt of my FO3 character, Mike Shannon Wolfletter.

She never knew what happened to Catherine, having last seen her moving from NV to the Capital Wasteland via vertibird. From time to time she muses on whether or not Catherine got married and had a child or two. "Maybe I'll go visit them, someday." she thinks. "Maybe they live in a tiny, abandon village near the DC ruins..."

In the meantime, she lived in NV, had a husband, but he died, so she spends her life trying to deal with the factions of NV. Somehow she ended up working as a courier.

During her darkest hours, she imagines Catherine with a man, a strong, clever man, and her child, perhaps a niece. The idea that she may one day meet them again keeps her going.

She has no idea what really happened, but why tell her?

I guess even Caesar's Legion needs hairdressers. :tops:

Very unique approach, though. Good on you! It'll be interesting if there's one actual crossover from Fallout 3, featuring Butch De'Loria.

Ace was a religious man who prayed for the souls of everything he killed. He grew up a poor farmboy but now delivers packages for money. this is for my cowboy playthrough
