FORCED 3rd Person again? Bethesda going cosnole totally?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:36 pm

MIND = BLOWN

Yeah, it's funny because as you can see these have been around a while, kind of blows the lid off this whole idea that TES games are somehow the property of hardcoe PC centric gamers, they have been 'selling out' (if that's what you consider it, I don't) for years.

Anyway OP, this is one of the dumbest complaint threads i've seen yet, congrats, wish you could be issued a formal award for it or something.

Ignorant. Morrowind had 1st person werewolf.

I think you`re the ignorant one.

Ummm, wasn't Morrowind released for consoles too?

Morrowinds graphics and engine and combat system were NOTHING like this game, you just keep making yourself more stupid.

No. I tried. werewolf only in 3rd... Unless i`m missing something.

Sorry people but there`s a reason why Bethesda are FORCING 3rd person and it has to be to appeal to the console crowd. Give me another reason if you think it isn`t.

It`s ruining the game.

Another reason - Unable to get working animations for certain circumstances to work in first person. Technically unable to get the 1st person mode to work, and that's not a good enough reason to scrap an entire chunk of gameplay content that otherwise works perfectly.

And don't say "but Morrowind did it", because Morrowind is a completely different game working off of completely different technology.

Yeah...consoles have nothing to to do with the forced third person, sorry, we're NOT the reason Beth put something in the game you don't like this time. But nonethless, we shall be your http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E094O3bgWTc&t=0m44s

A little bit dramatic.

Maybe dramatic, but i`ve been a long time player of the Bethesada game and I only ever play 1st person. Always. I can tolerate a bit of immersion busting with the quick cutscenes, but to totally stick me above myself again now as a werewolf (not just the horse) is a real disappointment.

I`m very, very disappointed in Bethesda. i see this as a dumbing down towards the console crowd, but until someone gives me a good reason why it isn`t, that`s how I will see it.

Blame it on the consoles, blame on the PS3, blame on the X-X-X-Xa Box Blame it on the Xbox360

In all seriousness, (Like i have any!) there should be NO anger/hate on PC from Bethesda, none the less console hate from the fans.
It's SKYRIM either way.

3rd-person rant is what i think about this topic.

I have a PC and don't play consoles but COME ON, all this mindless console hate is really starting to get annoying. Patch breaks quest? BLAME CONSOLES! You died from a Saber Cat? BLAME CONSOLES! You don't like the weapons? OBVIOUS CONSOLE FAULT! Seriously, what happened to the forums? I might go chill in the Morrowind discussion where people can actually have discussions about the game.

The way i see it is its easier to mod stuff like that than it is for those that play it on a 360 or a ps3. I play it on a 360 and it would run faster on that than my PC lol.

This can go two ways, Morrowind was released on the 360 as well, so until you give us a good argument, we will continue to label you a moron.

Pretty sure 3rd person has nothing to do with console vs. PC whatsoever, stop trying to drag every issue into PC vs. console territory.

Why don't you just stop buying the games then? Seriously you are acting like a whiny child, if a company produces a piece of entertainment not to your liking, then )((*&ing don't buy it, and play something else. It's amazing the way gamers carry on sometimes, can you imagine someone spending months posting ten times a day about on the boards for a movie they didn't enjoy, and feeling somehow entitled to an explanation of why the movie wasn't what they wanted, and demanding that the next move cater to their own wishes? They would like like whiny little brats, and that's exactly how this kind of thing looks.

what does 3rd person have to do with dumbing down for consoles? there are literally TONS of hardcoe PC exclusive RPG's that are only in 3rd person.

You're actually equating roleplaying with first person? So.. do you negate the title of RPG to majority of PC RPGs as well? Quite a few going way back aren't first person. There's both a tradition of oldschool First Person games like Wizardry and isometric games like Baldur's Gate... both standout "PC" RPGs in most people's minds.

Interesting. I say it`s console, maybe I`m wrong and maybe I`m right.

Whatever- We should have a CHOICE like we always USED to. WHY remove choice?

And you can throw all the insults you want, kids, you`ll find I`m a much tougher cookie than I look.

Morrowind was on console - Morrowind had 1st person werewolf (so says this thread, I never played it (I know, I know, I'm missing out - anyway)). So, if a console Morrowind did it, why it it consoles fault that Skyrim doesn't allow 1st person werewolf?

You know what I'm going to blame it on? Democrats.

Until someone gives me a good reason why it's not the Democrats fault, I'm going to blame them.

Really? Of all the things in this game, this is what you complain about?
Dont want third person horses? Dont ride a horse.
Dont want third person werewolves? Dont be a werewolf.

I myself think its because of global warming. And until you give me a good reason why it isnt, thats how i will see it. /sarcasm.

I understand we have Baldur`s gate and Dragon age, but they are `Squad-type ` games where you control multiple people in a PARTY. To control that lot in 1st person is a nightmare. i accept that and it makes sense.

But it is not required with a single person with possibly one Follower.

You should go check out any "nerd" movie forum.

As an X-Men fan, I've spent a lot of time on forums following the productions of the X-Men movies since X-Men 3 - and what you described is exactly the situation on those forums. People, years later, STILL [censored]ing about X-Men 3 and Wolverine, and god forbid anyone actually like those movies, because if someone expresses that those movies were in any way shape or form actually -good-, they are hit with an absolute [censored] storm.
