Forum Breach

Post » Sat Aug 13, 2011 7:30 pm

Now.... I have a problem. My account was registered with an email that is no longer in service. I had someone message Gstaff about this but he told them that he cannot send the new password to my current email unless I message him.

What Gstaff fails to realize is:

So instead I linked my FB to create a new account to get this sorted with Gstaff.

So Gstaff. Can I have my password now?

ANYONE in the Minecraft Thread/Server can verify me. This attack is quite frustrating. -_-

Confirming this.

did they get our email addresses?

Still to be determined, apparently, but in the last thread Gstaff did say the hackers may have made off with usernames, passwords (although those were encrypted) and emails.

If you used the same username/password combo (or even same username, similar password) on other sites, I'd get to changing those. Like I said in the last thread--I'm not worried about the passwords. What I'm still waiting to hear is if they did indeed get usernames and emails.

Oh god. My eye is gone. I can't see without my eye! I'm blind! Help! Ahhhh!

But what if Skooma, Expresate and Bonemonster2 are the hackers, and this whole attack is just one overly elaborate scheme to steal the real Bonemonster's account?! :bonk:

Yeah, you do need to make a new account to be able to PM him. Since you did that, just go ahead and send him a message now - I wouldn't count on him seeing this post.

Is there any danger to our e-mail adresses since they could be taken as well?

Why would they be? Bethesda doesn't have your e-mail address's password..............or do they?

Shouldn't be so long as you have a different password for your email address

If you use the same password for your emails/other sites/etc. then you might want to change them (all of them preferably)

Only if you use the same password for your e-mail as for your forum account. In which case you should change it.

If you can change your passwords, you're okay.

I think you guys handled it well, deleting all passwords and stuff. :tops:

Indeed i'm very proud of how Bethesda is handling these incidents. They are upfront and forthcoming not holding anything back from the consumer base at large. Also I do not blame Bethesda but the hackers that are attempting these malicious attacks against them. Obviously the people doing this are very sad individuals that only derive pleasure from hurting companions and the customer base surrounding those companies.

Already taken the liberty of changing my password and increasing its strength. Used Alphanumerical combinations to assure it is much more difficult to crack than my older password.

I don't blame gamesas for this. Hacking seems to be a stupid fad nowadays.

Come on! You just suffered a breach and you send me a new password in a plain text email? I expected better of you, folks. Anyone who recovered their account, make sure to switch to a new password rather that use the one you were emailed!

But wouldn't that be common sense though?

First thing I did after I logged in was change my password from the one Bethesda sent me
