Frameskipping Bug Video

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 7:32 pm

My FPS don't lower when I use it. It just removes the stutter, or what I prefer to call hitching. (hitching: To move or raise by pulling or jerking.)

I'm so happy Skyrim is on a new engine for many reasons, but this tops the list. Morrowind didn't do it, it just started with and after Oblivion on the Gamebryo engine.

Hitching is a great way to describe it. It jerks constantly. Also seem to notice it more after the last update, maybe my mind is tricking me idk.

But yeah you can see it in Ashtrey's video rather well. Sunny is not very fluid when running.

I see it when I run past a stationary object, namely a light pole. It will actually skip ahead very slightly when I am strafing sideways and looking at it. Ifpsclamp fixes this but i know that is not a fix. I understand the game will lag when loading new cells, I get a fps dip from 60 to 30 then back up to 60, but this hitching happens everywhere and with the fps at 60.

I believe it has something to do with the Gamebryo engine running a 64 hertz refresh rate, so the stutter remover should help. I am happy to here it helps some, hopefully will help me.
