Freeside Thugs

*Insert annoyed sigh* You know, at first I found the Freeside thugs immersive and adding detail to the city, but at this point, they are essentially the city version of mole rats, not a real threat anymore, just frustrating when they show up, and they just littering the streets and nothing more than wasting space on my save file, seriously, if you're going to add a generic foe, at least make their bodys dissappear after 3 days or something. :stare:

They're the reason I still carry a 9mm pistol. Like I'm getting out the All-American to deal with such fools.

disarm yourself, Go in fists alone.

It's pretty fun smacking them straight across the face :3

Maybe once or twice. But after you've done it around 20-30 times, it's just plain ridiculous, and I'm sick of seeing 20-30 different bodies littering the streets of freeside, I cant stand ash piles, goo piles, or permanant corpses, because thats a wastes piece of save data.

Edit- I dont think you people understand my annoyance, It's the fact their corpses dont vanish that is getting on my nerves, it's wasted data space.

I'm usually running around freeside when it will cut to a slo-mo kill cam of Boone decapitating one of those dudes. Scares the hell out of me each time :(

I find it hilarious that Freeside's streets are currently littered with headless thug bodies.

They also obviously don't talk to each other much. Eventually you think it would get around town that messing with that person in the Reinforced Mark II Combat Armor and the Scoped Trail Carbine slug over her shoulder is a head losing proposition.

We probably all read it, realized you're talking about some KBs in a world where 1 TB costs $80 and ignored you.

No, I get you, but that's the way it's always been in Bethesda games. At least in Oblivion people would acknowledge that there's a body in the streets but not so in the FO games for whatever reason.

Permanent bodies and ash piles in FO3 always annoyed me. I was kind of hoping this was going to be resolved in FONV. Hopefully a future patch will address this... =/

Ehhh, to me, every tiny thread of data space is valuable.

@Derragon- As was I, considering Fallout 3 had alot of complaints on these issues as well, hence is also a reason I sparingly use energy weapons. The only one I have is a Plasma Caster, and that I keep as a hard won trophy for killing off the Van Graffs.

On Colonel's topic -That's weird, I'm playing on PS3. I never see anybody dead on the street except the CL assassin that followed me there, and the current thugs I kill. Maybe I just don't notice them.

On everyone else's - I love the thugs, they are one of those things that make me feel really powerful. I generally love to kill them with some huge weapon instead of a 9mm pistol because it's total overkill and I got the money for more ammo. I noticed something else too, if you kill someone like Rotface no one cares, but if you kill a "settler" or Kings member your rep goes down.

I like them.

Thug: "See that corpse behind the dumpster there?"
Me: "Friend of yours?"
Thug: "No, I-"
*BLAM*
Me: "Oh, I'm sorry. I was cleaning my shotgun out of boredom and I accidentally blew your head clean off! I really do apologize, it won't happen again!"

if you are tired of seeing them on the streets.....clean them up. Just press the grab key..drag their sorry @$$'s to a dark alley and visit it for chuckles. alot of work but hey..you can pretend your Sam Fisher or somthing....except in this case, no one gives a damn about the rotting carcass you create!

They're the reason I still carry a 9mm pistol. Like I'm getting out the All-American to deal with such fools.

no idea why but this made me laugh so hard.

i like it. it never gets old. it allows me to engage in open warfare in a populated place and not have repercussions :D until the bodyguards steal the kills -_-

I like to carry the 9mm just because it makes me feel, like a straight up gangster rolling down the street popping a cap in any freeside thug i see.

This is a small price to pay for the joy of persistent corpses. Every time I see the raider in the middle of the I-15 kneeling and headless as if I had executed her gang style, even though I only shot her from a distance, I laugh a little.

They're the reason I buy .38 Specials for Lucky....using a Magnum load on busters like that is overkill and a waste of caps. The bigger problem is getting them before ED-E or Veronica do.
