Future Thalmor DLC

Post » Thu Jun 14, 2012 11:42 pm

The Thalmor were a relatively un-explored faction in TES: Skyrim and in my opinion have a lot to offer in terms of storyline and quests that could be a feature in any future DLC, any thoughts?

I will only buy a Thalmor DLC if I am able to kill or otherwise ruin all Thalmor in it.

I am still not happy over Elenwen being marked essential.

I would certainly want a Thalmor DLC. Maybe the DLC would allow you to command larger groups of soldiers as well?

Only time I've ever agreed with Ulfric.

Little is known about the Thalmor, and a future DLC would improve the lore.

I suspect that a dlc will be about the Thalmor. I hope so anyway. The Thalmor are too important to be left out of the game. I was disappointed that they werent a big part of the civil war. The fact that neither Ulfric or Elisif are crowned leader of Skyrim at the end of the CW made me curious about the Thalmor not striking while the iron was hot.

There are a lot of hints suggesting a Thalmor dlc. It will most likely be that biggest and most popular dlc if it is made. Even more popular if you can chose between empire Thalmor and Stormcloaks.

my thoughts have been that the thalmor would be further visited in the next TES title, which im assuming would revolve around the empire fighting the Thalmor, maybe taking place on summerset isle.

How do you put something in as a spoiler? I don't really see any spoiler there anyway.

My best character is an Altmer so I feel a bit stupid choosing the help one of the enemy.

At the end of the CW, Ulfric or Tullius will tell you that the next big threat is the Thalmor, and that everyone has to be prepared for the Thalmor to bring war to Skyrim itself. Ulfric also says that there will have to be a moot to declare the next high king (or queen) of Skyrim.

So this suggests that there absolutely be some DLC on the Thalmor, and perhaps something smaller dealing with the moot.

Meh...frankly, I don't think a dinky little DLC is going to do the Thalmor any justice. These are the new bad guys in Tamriel (and let's face it, they're far more compelling and hateful than the dragons ever were); dealing with them properly is going to need its own game. That, or a complete revamp of the base game, which isn't going to happen.

Altmer != Thalmor. Legate Fasendil hates them. The two altmer ladies at the College are suspect of the Thalmor "advisor".

I can see it being a main story extension, the main quest ended with alot of unanswered questions which made it quite obvious.

the thalmor is more or less a political sect that forced its way into control by violence and coercion in the altmer province (or was summerset isles completely seperate from the empire, i thought they were a part of it? i have been assuming the thalmor broke from the empire in a rebellion larger than skyrim)

I can see a DLC that revamps the Civil War and adds the Thalmor as an expansion quest line.
