Pretty biased competition, the only reason Zelda beat AC is blatant really devoted fan army from the Zelda forums.

Either way I voted for Skyrim to beat that piece of crap.

this "selling out to consoles" is how they get the majority of there money as a matter of fact consolizing this series started with morrowind which most people seem to see as mana from heaven. but i do agree they are taking away a bit much like the spear crossbow and throwing weapon types and simplifying combat skills into one handed and two handed. im no medieval weapons expert but i know there is a big difference in the swings of axe's maces and swords same goes for great axes warhammers and two handed swords. and the total removal of hand to hand as a skill therefore making it an impractical play style. and assigning a majority of the voice actors to important characters only and giving the remaining actors who seem to refuse to change there voice to the rest of the generic populace. but even with all that i do believe skyrim should win GOTY because even with all of its issues i believe it to be the best game yet in the series.

I would vote Skyrim, but I'm not signing up to G4, and I do not use facebook. I've never been a fan of LoZ games and never saw what people enjoyed about the original, but I'm 216 hours into Skyrim.

I do like the Morgen Webb review of Skyrim. Zelda is always a amazing game just like TES games, BUT! when I first play Zelda I don't have any problems while playing Zelda. TES games are always bugged. If Bethesda could focus on quality like Nintendo then it would be a perfect world. The complexity of a game shouldn't be a excuse of a reason why it is allowed to be released riddled with the most obvious of pre-schooler bugs. They are quite familiar with the creation of TES games and shouldn't be having the same issues over and over every release. My vote went for Zelda. Mainly because I know when I play Zelda I am getting a quality game. I don't have to wait several weeks or have to worry about patches to fix a game they released broken, or buggy. I won't spend 5 hours into the game to come to a quest and find out it is broken. I don't get distracted with graphical glitches in the background or NPC falling through geometry etc.

Wait, what? By AC you can't mean Arkham City??? I refuse to believe people would actually vote a Zelda game over Batman...

Ok, having now read up on the contenders in this absolutely pointless thing that i occasionally see plastered on a game box and keep hearing about at around this time of year, i decided to cast a vote!

I haven't played Zelda. I never will. On the off chance that i do, i do not think i would get into it, much less consider it to be good enough to be game of the year.

Voted for Skyward Sword. It has every feature that its creators said it would and works 100% right out of the box. And it's a great game on top of it all.

Really? I can't tell if your trolling or if you're serious.
Just because some Zelda releases have "cartoony" graphics, and not all do, does not make it a children's game.
I think every Zelda game is more difficult than Skyrim, by a wide margin. Skyrim is a hack & slash game, whereas Zelda is a puzzle solving adventure game that makes use of tactical combat.
The difficulty of zelda games is too high for children. I bet most skyrim players will have a hard time getting through the Zelda dungeons. I can understand that some people think Zelda looks childish but really it is really hard sometimes and its just the style of Nintendo. (Unlike Beth who rehashes a similar game every 4-5 years, Nintendo is innovative with every release.)
Zelda games almost always have a better story line than Elder Scolls games. TES Main Quests have never hooked me, and they just are not good.

Zelda typically has a longer development cycle than TES games - It's usually 5 years, or longer. This is one of Nintendo's flagship franchises and they take the extra time developing them to put of a perfect product - even if it means making the fans wait.
Nintendo doesn't skimp on quality.

I really couldn't agree more with this post. Skyward Sword deserves GOTY. Most here don't realize the flaws of Skyrim and just blindly idolize it while Skyward Sword is a total masterpiece.

All Bethesda does is make a big world to explore, thats it, its been like that since daggerfall. Oblivion even botched making it unique, and in Skyrim dungeons are liner corridors.
