Game Updates

Don't be silly.

Of course they 're working on it, of course they care.

Far too many people are becoming childish in their frustration; making stupid comments.

Thank you for your baseless, illogical conjecture.

Here in reality, however, there is no patch.

Maybe they should give us all the first DLC for free as way of an apology, but I can't see that happening any more than us getting a patch before Christmas !!!!!!

I wish....

I hope they release one before Xmas, as dead space 2 is coming out in Jan and quite frankly if it takes them till Jan to patch this game, then I wont be playing fallout nvs. Maybe when they release a DLC i might play it then.

Okay, so I had a conversation with Gstaff who's the Sr. Community Manager and site admin last night and I asked him if there was any news on a patch, this was his reply

Gstaff: "I can tell you the stuff is still be worked on -- many of the issues being reported in the forums. Unfortunately, until I have more to share, I'm going to sound like a broken record. Until we're in a place where we pretty much know the update is done, tested, certified, etc. -- it's hard to put an ETA on things."

So at least this shows that it is being worked on and we'll have to keep our fingers crossed and hope it doesn't take to long.

Well that some good news at least. I feel somewhat reassured. I think we'll just have to wait. Its unfortunate that this game has had so many issues. To be honest I waited a bit to purchase the game since the previous fallout froze so much I thought my xbox was broken. As long as they know about it and you got some kind of response saying that they are working on it thats good news. Personally i would prefer if they open up some communication with us and let us know whats going on even at the risk of sounding like a broken record. Its just good PR and customer relations I think. Plus it helps to market yourself as a company that actually cares about its customers. Social interaction for a case like this is never a bad thing.

I concur...at least to let us know they've not forgotten us players and buyers and that they're not ignoring the issues.
Oh well, hope they'll really spit out a good patch soon.

ok so they just didnt come up with news, because there is not an obvious status of the patch.

thanks god. anything else would be nonsense, noone can leave such an undone game to their players, all the quests, the bugged repeat - radio, all that...no.

I think the fact they have already released a patch is enough to show that they are working on fixing the many issues with the game, as well as the fact that DLC is due this "holiday season", again showing that they undoubtedly want to continue supporting this game.

Just because they haven't fixed some of the huge glaring issues in the game doesn't mean that they aren't working on them. I am no developer, but I would imagine that not every issue is a quick fix.

I am as frustrated and unimpressed with the stability of the game as anyone, but making snidey remarks on the forums is pointless.

Yeah, to say they don't care or aren't working on a patch is ridiculous. This is a very high profile game and obviously they want to continue to make money off of it through DLC. People won't buy the DLC if they can't play the base game in the first place.

I like how you people continue to argue against facts and a proven track track of failure to fix games while still selling new games, DLC and making money.

There isn't a new patch coming, the one we already have is all we're getting. Their DLC will still sell and their next game will still be a hit - just like with every other game Bethesda and Obsidian are responsible for.

The lazy, arrogant people making these decisions don't care that the game is broken, they knew it was broken before it launched. If they had the will or the means to fix the bugs in it they would have.

Fixing the patch is worth more than marketing. If they don't fix the bugs, no one will trust their product next time.

They still have to sell DLC and other versions of this game. If this game remains broken, it's getting traded in at a Gamestop. When they release their GOTY or complete version a year from now... sales are going to lag.

you're crazy to think that they will never release a new patch, of course they are working on one as we speak-

but what i can't figure out is why they have gone into "media blackout" mode and haven;t commented on ANYTHING for over a week- no updates about what they are doing, no replies to questions on the forum, NOTHING!

i think they are hurting themselves more by being quiet...it seems more and more that they don't care about us, their fans and paying customers!

just man up and say, "We haven't forgotten you, we are still listening, and even though it is 2 weeks after launch, we are trying very hard to release a patch that will alleviate the problems you are having"

Ahh yes nemt, lets look at Obsidians proven track of failure to fix games. Just did a quick check on FilePlanet, so listed versions may not be latest versions.

Before Obsidian, the founders came from Black Isle studios:
Fallout - v1.1
Fallout 2 - No version given, but patched multiple times
Planescape - v1.1, then publisher dropped support
Icewind Dale - v1.6
Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter - v.1.41
Icewind Dale II - v2.01

Obsidian:
SWKOTOR: Sith Lords - gameplay issues patched twice, cannot find versions
Neverwinter Nights 2 - v1.23 (cannot find clear list, this is the highest I was able to find)
Alpha Protocol - v1.1

Wow, you're right, these guys never fix their problems, we should all just kill ourselves right now.

Why are you so adamant to make the situation seem worse than it is? If you can't handle it sell your game, cut your losses and move on.

me, I am waiting for the next patch. And there will be a new patch.

Just wanted to let everyone know, we are currently working on releasing patches/updates as quickly as possible for Fallout: New Vegas, for all platforms. Announcements regarding the patches are forthcoming. )

it has been over a GD week a and all u can do is write 2 sentences that you are working on this patch. i don't think it is really that hard for someone update your guys post on how far you guy are compete with the patch. and if that don't work just at least give a rough estimate on when u are going to finish up with this patch. but in my opinion i believe if they would be done with the patch within the week they would of posted it by because that would been good news for us(cause a week for a patch is not all that long, i guess for how much needs to be done). but i believe they are keeping silence because if they were to tell us when this patch might be out. which i think can up or even over a month it would just provoke people to get their money back. because people will not want to wait that long on something that shouldn't of been there in the first place.

Sorry, I cannot seem to see past the glaring grammatical errors enough to formulate a response to this.

I think they might release a patch that might fix the dlc issue in a month or so, and then the rest of the bugs will be fixed in a patch that is included in the DLC so they can rest assured that we'll buy it, or just be left with a crappy game if you dont. or they may do something much much worse and just tie the patch into the DLC all together...

at least thats what I would do because I LOVE MAKIN THAT MONEY!!!
