Games you suddenly want to (re)play

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:32 pm

Every year until Skyrim was announced, I had an urge to play Oblivion all the way through again.... sometimes I would answer its call, and sometimes I would ignore it. But it took a lot of will power...

I frequently go back to old games, especially ones like Diablo 2 and Deus Ex. I must have started Deus Ex nearly thirty times in my life, but only ever played it to completion about 3-5 times. Diablo is just..Diablo. It's extremely addictive and I refuse to have a PC without it installed at all times.

I have been wanting to play my old Delta Force games, but they won't work on my PC, which really svcks.

Also, going back to Morrowind is a common occurrence for me, though I spend more time modding it than actually playing it.

In fact... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoT5qK6hpbw

Arrrrrg, thanks for reminding me I have yet to finish the SE edition of that game. :P

As for games I want to replay (as opposed to finally get around to finishing)...I've had the urge to dig out my Psychonauts DVDs and replay that one. It's been a few years since I've played that one, so I think maybe it's time.

I'd also like to replay Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which is odd, as I just finished it not a day or two ago. Apparently my brain's decided it's not done having the living daylights scared out of it yet, or something.

Divinity II: Ego Draconis.

I hate that game. It was so ridiculously hard, and for all the wrong reasons, it was just plain unfair and unreasonable. But it did so many things right and I wanted to like it. The story was interesting and the soundtrack is amazing. But it is awful. It is too difficult.

Why do I want to play this again? But I do. Someone talk me out of this.

I've also been wanting to replay Mega Man X6. Don't ask why, because I don't know.

Call of Duty 4's multiplayer, since I can't get any full servers on the Star Wars mod for it on PC...
Star Wars Galaxies
Guitar Hero 3/5
KotOR
Halo 2

I also want to play Morrowind again, especially now that I have my new graphics card.

Ever since I managed to get it working on my Win7 machine...Dungeon Keeper 2. This series died way too young. And that voice...the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGHmr3D4Mnc. Richard Ridings needs to voice more things.

KOTOR, though I hit the wall of incompatibility because I have Vista installed. I may look into the patches and workarounds for this sometime.

Now and then I go back to playing VTM:Bloodlines, since it's a classic and ages well. I still haven't played a Gangrel character yet, or played the game all the way through as, say, a Malkavian. Playing as Nosferatu would be one of the biggest challenges yet, though I think I'll try Gangrel first.

I'm going to buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare this year, since the price dropped a little.

I'm planning to play Deus Ex for the first time in several years; hopefully it will be compatible with Vista.

For me, I am itching to play a great good old strategy game. After the dispointment with Civ V,i went back to Call to Power 2, Star Trek Birth of the Federation (the real MOO III) and now I am playing Masters of Orion. I will see if I can get MOO II installed since I forget how I got MOO installed on Widnows 7.

I want to play Baulders Gate again, but don't feel like installing it and BG II and Tutu all over again right now, so will wait to play that later. I have an itch to play Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic again, so if I can find my copy, I will play that again. There is also Morrowind as well too. :P

Left 4 Dead 1, love the second but there's something I miss the simplified game mechanics of the first.

With all the dark souls info, Demon's Souls

And randomly, starwars: battlefront i think that was the name of it.

At the end of last year I replayed the first Golden Sun, with the intention of playing the second (which I had never owned before) afterward. I beat the first, but then didn't feel like playing the 2nd. I replayed both Mass Effect games recently, and got most of the way through Zelda Majora's Mask. I stopped at the last dungeon (stone tower?) and haven't felt like going back. I also just started playing Soul Calibur 3 a couple days ago, but apparently the game is very buggy and my save data was corrupt. I really like that Chronicles of the Sword game mode, it's the only reason I started playing the game again.

I started replaying Blood Money the day before Hitman 5 was announced so I didn't waste any time rebeating it.

Ape Escape and Pandemonium. Although I know that if I went back to them now they wouldn't be half as fun, because I'm no longer a stupid child who's amazed at basically anything a game has to offer. :P

I thought about giving Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale another shot. I haven't touched BG in years and didn't get very far because I was turned off by the pre-rendered backgrounds and the linearity, and I never played Icewind Dale because it looked identical to BG.

Morrowind.

Have it reinstalled and am currently getting my mod list perfect before starting a proper game.

Deus Ex

I get the urge to replay this about once or twice a year. Have it reinstalled but Morrowind and Minecraft are occupying most of my time at the moment.

Unreal

The very first one. No idea why, just got the urge to play it yesterday for the first time in about 8 years. Might reinstall it at the weekend if the urge is still there.
