gamesas needs to hire this woman

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 4:50 am

I'm not trying to be mean, but her attractiveness barely registered to me. I can appreciate the song fine without looking. She's pretty, but she's kind of down to earth/average pretty. If that makes sense. It's not like I'm watching Beyonce or something. You guys are trying too hard to hate, if that's all you can say.
You've never seen Beyonce in the same conditions though. I find women in Paris prettier with only light make-up than Hollywood stars who are supposed to play the fatal beauties.

She sings pretty good, but not amazing like everyone is saying.
I think TES fans overlike it just because it's about TES.

So no, Bethesda should not hire her.

They should hire better programmers instead that knows how to do their job properly.

Superficial issues aside I don't really like the song to be honest. Someone described it as serene, I feel it's way too serene. Nauseatingly so...

Her singing is not the best, but the fact that she put so much effort into the production, editing, composition and harmonies is where this video should be commended.

Anyone who has spent so much time and effort into producing such a nice end result deserves some praise.

I don't see why this needs special attention. Plenty of people can sound as good as she does with that much voice editing. Oh I forgot, these days things like auto tuning = talent.

They should use her as a voice actor for some of the bards. For gods sake get some decent singers for the bards in the next game. The songs are ok, but I hate hearing them because of the poor productions. The regular music is great, but the bards are almost as bad as the wolf howls.

Hiring a Singer to do a Voice Actor's job could be much worse. She can sing but it's highly edited and using such a trick would really mess up consistancy, as would just having her do the voice of the song. She would have to prove that she could act as well, nothing ruins a game more than to have a voice actor that can't act.

Before I opened the thread, I thought to myself "Could he be talking about the girl who covers bard songs on YouTube?"

I was correct, and I completely agree. She would make a great voice for some of the female bards that svck... :P

Pretty sure they don't have live auto-tune in tamriel.

It's called reverb, ever heard of it?

Anyhow, I never said anything about recording her voice with auto-tune.

Don't see what the big deal is. Sure she has a "tuned" voice. But I'm sure she wants her own label with her own record deal with her own music. I'm sure working for Bethesda isn't her first choice. She wants money like the rest of them.

Haters gonna hate. Editing can only do so much; if her voice isn't already good then I don't think editing could have made such a difference. Anyways, she is cute, so that's an easy out for many to hate on her and claim she really svcks.

Yeah, I don't hear an auto-tune effect either. Just sounds like reverb. She's harmonizing her vocals. Both can be done naturally, but she's only one person, who's screwing around in her bedroom. Pretty good for just someone who likes the game, like most of us. Or at least, a few of us. Almost everyone complains about the game too. lol

I like the more serious tone of her cover. I think most the bards in the game just sound loud and annoying. It's a kind of rewarding that you can hit them in the face with a warhammer though, unlike real life when someone busts out their acoustic guitar at a party.

I like her voice. If you listen to some of her less edit videos on YouTube you can't miss that the natural ability is there. And she can play guitar for those who were wondering.

For me however, I would have liked to hear her sing completely unedited or at least limit the reverb to the chorus parts.

Oh good, another thread full to the brim with cynical, world weary generation X nobodys. The thing is, everyone SAYS she's average & not that good, but the difference being that she's DONE something. And pretty well too. Gets annoying when people who have done nothing approaching this, and never will, get to trash it like their opinion means anything. Anyone can bleat out a negative cynical opinion, not anyone can create something with so much appeal.

Which still doesn't mean anyone should hire her because of a youtube video.

I'd rather them hire one good voice actor full-time who can do 6-12 voices well. Even better would be if they hired 3 or 4.

Probably a dozen other sorts of jobs I'd rather have them hire someone for as well.

This sounds rude, but I like the song a lot more when the screens off or I look away. She's an average looking, slightly pudgy girl. I guess I don't see the appeal. Average woman and a decent rendition (certainly better than Skyrim's bards).

I don't think she's average or pudgy.
However, what does weird me out is when she does the "oooooooh" part of the song, something about her lips and her nose looks incredibly fake. Not calling her ugly, but that vid, angle, lighting or WHATEVER it is that's making her look plastic makes me cringe.

Oh goody, another person who thinks the only people in life who qualifies to criticize are those who can do better. Sorry mate, I might not be a performer but I do know what my ears like to hear and this particular production was not it. This is not to say that I find any fault with her voice. Like I said, it's the over the top reverb that hurts my ears.

First off, she's not using "auto-tuning". She's using a reverb effect in the mixer--it's not altering the pitch of her voice one iota, only adding a sort of "hollow echo". The notes, melody, and breath quality that you are hearing is 100% her.

Secondly, people who are calling this young woman "average" or "nothing special" have a bit bit to learn about vocal peformance. She has to be, what, between 17 and 20? With a voice that husky and a range that large with control that good? A human being's voice, male or female, does not fully achieve it's maximum range potential and quality until 40-45 years-of-age. Anyone that believes this is average performance for someone her age doesn't understand the art. She's a prodigy.

Lastly, just because she's not fulfilling some adolescent fantasy about Britney Spears in lingere that some of the nubiles here seem to be having, it doesn't mean that her voice is not as good. It's better with more character and more potential, in my opinion. Give her a voice coach paid $6M per year and let's see what she sounds like!

Oh hush now... This is the Internet, where everything is either utter crap that needs to be [censored] on ceaselessly forever, or The Best Thing Ever that needs to be visible everywhere all the time. Until it runs its course and becomes the former, of course. Everything's binary on the Internet!

Her songs are so voice edited its hard to tell how good she really is but she looks good so she is more popular then others who have sung these songs with no major voice editing but may not be as attractive, sad really!

So?... You think Brittany Spears or Lady Gaga, or anyone else isn't? You are delusional. Most singers that make it big don't have half the talent she does.
