According to Steam at this exact moment, New Vegas is poised to unlock at around 12PM next Tuesday. I think it'd be nice to get some clarification on this so PC users don't go out and purchase the game, just to earn the privilege of staring at the box for twelve hours or so.

At every MN release I've been to, there was people my age (17) to talk to. Some little kids but not many at all. Oh well, I can't go to this one because I pre ordered from Wal Mart.

I wish we had a midnight release where I live .

I live in a city of like, 120,000+ people, and we had only one Gamestop, and they went out of business....so now we have none and the closest Gamestop is like a half hour drive..


So I had to preorder mine at Best Buy..and they are not doing a midnight release either .

In fact, they have never done a midnight release for anything including MW2 and they won't even be doing it for Black Ops..

I checked the link of stores near me that will have a midnight opening for this game and find there is one on the Parks Hwy which is the same road I live on. Only problem is it's over 350 miles down the Highway. I'll wait for delivery each day until three or spend the 6 hours it will take to download it from steam.

Ahh can't wait to go pick it up from the GS 5 minutes from me. I'll probably ask if I can take all of their promo items when they're done with them too. :fallout:

Hey...I was playing Tenchu: Stealth Assassin when I was 8 and I turned out a perfectly competent and mentally stable human being...I think.

On topic: I'd go to a midnight release just for the fun experience if I didn't live in "middle of nowhere" Kansas. Even if I did drive the hour to the nearest Gamestop it wouldn't be because I just couldn't wait to take it home and play. 8 or 9 more hours doesn't matter to me; I'd rather wake up energized and refreshed when I start to play.

The Gamestop I pre-oredered from is apparently having a midnight opening, and it's only a 10 minuted walk from my apartment. Kind of surprised, it's not a big city. Id say we fall somewhere between very large town and tiny city.

The nearest EB Games is an hour away, so I won't be partaking in such an event. I'm working on Tuesday anyway.

By the way, how old are the people on this forum? It seems like everyone is under the age of 20. I wasn't expecting to feel old at 22, haha.

I'm 13 so I need my mom with me to buy it, but before somebody goes whining about how a 13 year old shouldnt be playing this kind of game, let me tell you that I am merely a 30 year old traqed in a 13 year olds body. And I wouldnt call it bad parenting to buy a minor an M rated game, if you ask me it depends on the mental maturity of the child, not the physical, if he/she is ready for this kind of thing then they should purchase it. Sad thing is though, most people my age act about five and watch Jersey Shore and listen to Nickleback and Lil' Wayne.......while I sit in the corner listening to David Bowie and Iggy Pop (sigh) Well anyways, to say "Oh this child is only 'insert age here', so surely they could not be ready to play a game such as this." is just plain old stupidity, and you cant fix stupid...........
Also, I hate how everybody assumes that sense I'm hardly a teen that I only like games like Call of Duty and Gears of War (I hate both of those). I mean seiriously, the other day while I was browsing my local GameStop the clerk suggested that I should pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops because "I would enjoy it more" as if I'm to feeble to know that somethings great, and that its just impossible for me to appreciate something of Fallout's stature due to my age. Well, I guess I should blame my generation for being so idiotic rather than blame the people who assume I'm like them.

The wife and I will be going to the gamestop near our house. We had to preorder seperate copies cause we can't share fallout. We've been to several midnight releases and they are actually pretty entertaining to go to. If nothing else you meet some interesting people.

The gamestop I preordered from is having a midnight release. But they also open at 10am on Tuesday.

I need my sleep, the game can wait a few extra hours.

That's my plan. I typically don't pre-order games, especially CE's, nor do I go to midnight releases, in fact that last midnight release I went to was for Halo 2.

But this game... I'd go to a 3am release in Pakistan (if I could afford the trip).

Most Wal Mart's, at least the ones in my area (Las Vegas) are open 24/7, so all games are midnight releases there.



If you were a relative of mine I'd buy you the game just because of this.

I got D2 on my birthday when I was 10 on release day (same day, which is cool), and now at 20 I see my young cousin who's 9 playing games where he shoots people in the face, and I feel at odds.

My parents really didn't care what video games I played or what I watched on TV, and I think that a lot of parents care too much, as if the games will turn their children into deviants.

But then again I graduated from college with an honors degree so what a deviant I am... :shifty:

Overall I don't see why it's such a hot topic if a kid sees something deemed "mature" Sure sure, there are limits I know that, but "violence" "language" "blood"and "partial nudity" are hardly going to change their upbringing, if a parent can have a civil conversation with their child instead of telling the child "they're not old enough" or "You can't play this because I said so" then that, is bad parenting, hell half the content debated as "mature" in video games can be seen on cable television.

So all in all I'm not sure where to draw the line on these issues, but I know that it's drawn to strict in some areas and to loose in others, at least in my book, But I think the laws as they stand are fine, if a parent doesn't mind then they can buy their child the game, but at some point I would just hope that a parent would let their child make their own decision, if your kid is 17 and you don't want them seeing "mature" content then your kid is most likely sheltered.

Same I have to wait until the 20th to get my copy because the collectors edition was only available online at the time.

Hmmmm, seems I'm the exact opposite, I'm a 16 year old trapped in a 36 year old body.

Does that come off as creepy as it seems like it would? I certainly hope so, but not the original intent.
