nah you mostly just stand out side until 12:01 get your game and then go home about it unless you have a cool store that gives away stuff but not many do lol

Hmm, I knew my local Gamestop was having one but I didn't know that the Gamestops would be opening around 10 pm, thanks for the link. I intend to go a bit earlier now and see if I can meet any fellow Fallout enthusiasts. Would be nice to talk about Fallout lore with some real life people. Of course it could also turn out that it'll be full of nothing but little kids with their moms waiting to get the game for them. >.>

i remember fallout 3. i had just turned 15 and i had to stand in line with my dad to get it. i felt kinda dumb. im 17 now and i still have to have my dad with me.

Well, dang. This might change things for me, lol. I was going to wait until 8:00 AM on Tuesday and be at K-Mart and get mine with my $15 discount. But if I can get it the night before that would give me an all-nighter Monday night to play! Let's see, take a nap Monday evening, pick up game at 12:00 and play until the sun comes up! :flamethrower:

A GameStop about five minutes from me is having a midnight release. And I was planning on pre-ordering there too originally. Oh well, it's not like I would have any sort of transportation at midnight.

if this helps, when dad and i are buying an 'M' game for me, we just play it off as if dad was buying it for himself.

Well I was referring more to the really young kids, who are under 12 years old and have no business playing this sort of game, who do that sort of thing. For example, when I was at the Borderlands midnight release, a kid who couldn't have been older than 10 brought his mom along to buy him the M rated game. The M rated game that had a picture of a guy pretending to shoot himself on the cover, no less. That's just depressingly bad parenting.

I wish my parents would let me go to a midnight release. They just don't feel the same way I do about videogames...

By the way, I'm 14, going to be 15 in february.

Why? NV is M for mature, 17+.

If you're in Europe it's 18+, but it's not like they ask for i.d or anything, especially when they see that line behind you, they'll just say "hand over the money and gtfo".

Can I just say I am shocked at 12 to 15 year olds being allowed to buy the recent Fallout games. I have no idea how it works in America with the Mature rating, but here in Britain a games retailer can be prosecuted for selling games to persons under the BBFC classification age (side note these are in conjunction with PEGI ratings which are not enforcable by law) (also games tend to only be classified in the 15 or 18 category if appropriate).

Meh, although i am excited i will probably just sleep through midnight release and go early in the morning. Besides i pre-ordered mine through a gamestop that's in the mall. :facepalm:

dude, while i respect your opinion and all that, i just need to say that some parents are actually very responsible when handling buying "m" games for their choldrin, for example, my parents literally spend hours a day researching "m" games like fallout, and borderlands, and RDR,
and most of the time, when i finally get the game, they watch me play it for the first few days, and if they think the game is too innapropriate, they take it, return it, and get me a different game.

They sometimes still open them, I know ours was open for CoD midnight release.

I know my mom would have let me play Fallout at that age, even younger, but I think it depends on the kid and I was a good girl.

I wasn't meaning the maturity of the child in question or the parenting ability of the parents, I was just shocked that it is not more regulated in America. But this is heading off topic.

It is, if you are under 18 you can't buy the game, only a parent or advlt over 18 (I think) can. You can't sell games either if you are under 18.

Whats the 1st rule of Fight Club, you don't talk about Fight Club. The same rule applies if your under the Mature Age for the game you don't talk about it. :whisper:
