Gaming Addiction

You're joking, right? Do you mean you're not getting Skyrim ON release day? Because there's no way you can skip a BGS title; considering one only comes out every 3-5 years.

No, I am not.

I'm not purchasing Skyrim. Maybe when a day comes and the price drops relatively low, I may consider it. I can still enjoy Fallout 3 and many other games but Skyrim is off my list.

I will be spending the money at a steakhouse with some friends.

What's your reasoning behind not getting it besides DRM?

Does "just not my type" count?

Well, he says he enjoyed Fallout 3. I guess that would depend on whether or not he likes TES as well.

Not really addicted to gaming as much as I am to playing TF2 with my friends

Forza 4 and Battlefield 3 are going to be way more fun than Skyrim anyways.

Addiction? No, I only play when time permitting and I do not let it interfere with more important matters.

I do spend too much time gaming, just in the past two weeks I've spent ~60 hours playing games (mostly Deus Ex: Human Revolution but others too) . I should cut down on it :P

Heh, same here. Managed to rack up 57 hours on Borderlands in ten days.

I live way outta town though and only work a few days a week, so I have a legitimate excuse.

The only games I have an addiction to are Elder Scrolls, Fallout and for some unkown reason Football Manager.

I used to have an addiction to Zelda and Mario but have since fallen out of love with Nintendo

It's not like the Skyrim forum, is it? :P

I remember the days when we didn't have so many Fallout Philistines cluttering up the place.

Im currently addicted to shooting people in the head in Far Cry 2... it has the most satisfying head shot 'pop' ive ever heard in a FPS.

Games can't be addictive because they don't alter your brain chemistry, games are compelling which means people enjoy them and want to play them more :spotted owl:

In other news no I'm not playing games much do to school :read:

This. And these days, time-permitting usually means about four hours a week if I'm lucky.

I spend much of my day at computer but I don't consider myself an addict since I got a job and I go to school at the same time. Whenever there is something more important going on, I have no problems turning off the computer.

How do you still go to school ? Arent you in the Finnish army ?

I doubt skyrim will hold me for long. Im jsut not that interested. I will buy it, becuase I know with everone talking about it, I will eventually. But im not optimistic.

Now when the final fallout NV dlc is released, so I can finaly replan my characters with the new perks...

And kingdom of Amalur in 2012.

Also lately I spend more time on the internet than playing games. I burned out on deus ex and halo wars wasnt the rts I was hoping for.

I'm fairly certain all men age eighteen or over are in the Finnish army. Unless they opt-in for civil service instead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription_in_Finland

I haven't been playing games a whole lot lately. In my free time I've been watching netflix, hanging out with friends, working out, and playing tennis.

Now, once Skyrim comes out... That will be a different story. ;)

I have plenty of free time, but more of it is spent reading/talking about games than actually playing them. When a truly great game does come along, however, it consumes every waking hour that I can spare.

I'm in too much of a nervous panic from all my college assignments and clients to even consider playing a game right now. I fear its going to be like this until December. At this rate, I can see myself totally missing the release of games like Forza 4, Rage, Arkham City, Minecraft 1.9 , Halo Anniversary and Skyrim.

Perhaps he has different expectations of RPGs than he does racing and shooters? I can't get behind The Elder Scrolls' brand of fantasy either, as blasphemous as it may be.

What expectations can you have for racers and shooters nowadays? They're the two most generic genres. Especially shooters.
