Gaming Addiction

What expectations can you have for racers and shooters nowadays? They're the two most generic genres. Especially shooters.

I didn't say they had to be particularly high expectations, just different. Anyway, I don't know his gaming habits or tastes, it was just an example of the whole "different strokes for different folks" spiel.

Having to play games like Skyrim, War in the North, Battlefield3, Diablo3, and MW3 I should come out of my man cave some time in the spring.

I wish I had a gaming addiction. The internet's the thing I can't stop starting up. Also, I've got my eyes on far more interesting titles than Skyrim, so it will not be svcking away what little social life I have.

This. I can't get to bed at a decent time anymore...

Most racing games are incredibly different Forza is about as close as I can get to owning my dream cars, painting them in any way I want, and adding almost any part to them I would want.

And my expectations for shooters are fairly low I prefer Battlefield over COD because of the closer to realistic sniper rifles.

I spend more time looking for information about games than actually playing them.
Skyrim, Battlefield 3, and Forza 4 are my most anticipated games of this year.

I don't play games all that much anymore, but some games really get you addicted. Like Guild Wars, I played it so much I had trouble having a social life at all. Mount & Blade kept me playing for a week straight. Now I try and keep it in moderation, because I realized hanging out with my friends and girls is a lot more fun than any game I've played ( except some high end PvP in Guild Wars ).

Does "just not my type" count?

I guess not everyone has realized yet that this place isn't just a TES forum anymore. ;)

Eh, ever since my PS3's blu-ray laser burnt out, I haven't been able to play games, and surprisingly I'm doing pretty well. I've been going out with friends often, and devoting more time to guitar. Of course when I get a new system and Skyrim come's out, I'll probably go into hiding

Apart from Fallout and GTA, nothing ever beats my addiction to TES.

I'm buying Skyrim this november, hopefully that'll keep me addicted way into 2012.

I've never really been addicted to a game other than the afformentioned.

Gaming addiction, like any non-chemical addiction, is basically you saying "I don't want to stop having fun". You don't grow dependent on playing games, thus it comes down to not having self-control.

I liked Fallout 3, which happens to be the only reason I am here, TES is too generic for me

I played oblivion, thought it svcked. Only here becuase of fallout. I have Skyrim pre ordered, but I may cancel it. I think im only getting it beause of hype, everyone saying its going t be great. Im not hyped about it. In fact I think its going to be a dissapointment. Only issue is I wouldnt know what other games to get, I want something becuase oA isnt out till like Febuary 2012. Hmmm Wonder if I could fix my wii and buy Okami for £40, I need to try that game.

Let's just hope it's another good surprise, like the last Deus Ex, eh?

It is a good game, a worthy buy in my opinion.

Anyway, I do not consider myself a game addict. The last game I played was Deus Ex: Invisible War about 3 weeks ago. I only play games whenever I have nothing else to do, or when I get really into a title.

As for Skyrim, I hope it will be able to hold my attention.

Lots of peole werent suprised by deus ex being good. I bought it becuase I liked the multiple options, other than that I avoided the hype. But With skyrim, from what I see its just not interesting me, or putting me off e.g romance.
Still it may suprise me, but if just got a feeling that tells me it will dissapoint me.

Now what would be a good suprise would be more falout new vegas dlc.
