I love Gears, the Sawed Off was really fun to use. I love how people whine and cut themselves over it. 95% of the whiners are Gnasher Gnoobs anyways.

I haven't really gotten into this series, the art style where everybody looks like they have been on a diet of Captin' Steroid Crunch and Meth Munchies sort of puts me off.

Would overlooking all this be worth it?

No, considering the third was written by one of my favorite authors, Karen Traviss. :wub:

Read the books if you haven't, they bring quite a lot of true humanity to the series.

it took skill to use the Gnasher in Gears 2. the Sawed-off was made for new player's to use against Gnasher user's. well the vet Gear reward was announced it's the Golden Gnasher. and another note it's only two days untill it's one month till Gears of War 3!

My main interest is in RPGs, although I do like some Sci-Fi Shooters but they're just fill ins for me. I did like the first, the secend wasn't as good but I still completed it. I'll get the third one but it'll be gathering dust for a long time, whilst I'm playing Skyrim.

but Gears 3 comes out before Skyrim it comes next month.

Sort of lost interest in the series. When the original game dropped, I thought it one of the best games I had played. By the time the second game released, I was already sort of tired of it. I will eventually get the third game, but it is highly doubtful I will pick it up around release.

I didn't like how they clichéd the [censored] out of all the characters in 2. In the first Gears, Dom was pretty funny. Cole wasn't a complete moron.

But in 2, all Dom did was moan. Cole just shouted obscene, stupid things. Gears 3 does seem to be better, but I can only take this from the lines they say during the multiplayer beta.

My second most anticapted game of the year, though. Multiplayer, something I don't play all too often, looks unbelievable.

Gears is awesome. Gears 3 is going all out. With beast mode, horde, and campaign. The multiplayer has dedicated servers. I'm so glad to hear that. That's probably the best news I've heard.

Save Carmine. I hope Clay Carmine doesn't die. It's sort of a staple for the series with Carmines to meet their imposing doom. Benjamin was my favorite. poor guy.

While I love the gameplay of Gears, the achievements are a slap in the face.

Seriously..., Seriously 2.0, whatever the name for reaching 100 in Gears 2 is, and now Seriously 3.0, which requires you to get all Onyx medals.

Gears 3 is bad news for an achievement hunter like myself, so regretfully, I'm skipping this game.

Agreed.

I was never getting the game anyway. To many good ones coming out this year.

I have to say,
Horde Mode: Oh MY GOD it looks fun. Same goes for multiplayer. Why spend 60$ When I can just wait a bit and get it for cheaper.

Picked up Gears 2 on XBL last week with some Xbox points that I had no other use for. A lot more fun than I expected! The girlfriend and I played through the entire game on casual in one weekend, and now we're jumping straight to insane (managed to get to Act 3 so far).

I haven't played them online, but I really enjoyed the campaigns of both GoW games. While a bit short, the setting is interesting, the gameplay is varied and the action is visceral. It's also a nice change from the countless FPSs out there. I'll likey pick of GoW3, albeit not at launch - I'll wait for it to drop to around €25 or so.

I have to give Epic a lot of respect for how good every trailer is for this series.Since I saw the very first "Mad World" trailer in theaters I have always been taken aback by the quality of work they do.

one of the reasons i got Gears of War was because the Mad world trailer on my used xbox looked amazing. so whoever you are Beevough you got me into Gears of War so thank you.

I love Gears for the simple fact its an amazing Co-op game, there aren't many other games that have campaigns made for two players.

Oh my gosh I know! They capture such a good emotion and let you know this is the end. Like with each trailer, Mad World gave me the sense of: "What is going on?" How it Ends gave me the sense of: "What is going to happen next, how will it end?" and Dust to Dust gave me the sense of: "This is it. This is where it all ends."
