well i got banned from Epic games forums because i was arguing with an idiot and i was IP banned so i thought i'd make a general discussion thread here. [please don't turn this into an MP matchmaking thread] who else is excited for gears 3?!?! and NO LEAKED CONTENT. discuss

hell yeah! i'm excited about the graphics Gears has really evolved from a survival action horror. and of course the Campaign gotta finish the fight! and Beast and Horde 2.0 baby! i recently beat the Horde all by myself on hardcoe because i don't have live. mad skillz baby mad skillz.

While I love the gameplay of Gears, the achievements are a slap in the face.

Seriously..., Seriously 2.0, whatever the name for reaching 100 in Gears 2 is, and now Seriously 3.0, which requires you to get all Onyx medals.

Gears 3 is bad news for an achievement hunter like myself, so regretfully, I'm skipping this game.

Gears 1 was awesome. Gears 2, not so much. As long as 3 is closer to 1 than 2, I'll be happy though.

you're gonna regret it. i find that if a game has hard to grasp achievements then there worth coming back to again and again! seriously 2.0 is for getting 100 thousand kills and Veteran Gear is for reaching level hundred. and Gears 3 will be big. it already has the most preorders ever for an xbox game of it's genre. but if you feel that way i doubt i can change you're mind :shrug:

Same here. I can't count how many hours I played Gears 1 with my friends. It was our go-to game for so long. For a while it was the only game they played.

I love the series as a whole. Gears One MP though was way better, just because it worked way better. I played the Gears Three beta, and I loved it. It worked, and it felt like a good balance of the first two games. I had it preordered forever. I really can't wait to finish the campaign!

yes micro$oft did a gameplay thing and someone downloaded it and posted leaks everywhere on Epic's forum's and on youtube vids... god i miss that forum.....

Anyway, I have Gears 1 but I never finished it, think I ragequit when I kept dying on that train level.

i tryed it it didn't work :sadvaultboy: RAAM on the train is the last level lol i beat him on insane alone.

I found no enjoyment out of the series. I did however find that I hate 3rd person perspective in shooters, and I really didn't like the whole cover system. Other than that, it looked amazing.

Would overlooking all this be worth it?

if you're someone who loves gut wrenching brilliant story's combined with shooter games you'll love it. hehe also.

It's kinda worth playing the game just for the absurdly over-the-top manliness of it all. Split-screen with a friend is advisable.
